I am actually curious to know that even after qualifying IIT-JEE, working with Tata Group companies for over six years, managerial experience in non conventional Steel Industry, international extra curricular activities at Brazil and London, and excellent community activities....all these combined together would not be able to compensate for my 670GMAT ? Otherwise I do not see any other weakness in my candidature....any guesses from your side ?

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions till I get the official response. Even my case was similar and I got my decision very late. In which city are you currently residing? The admissions team is touring India during late Nov-early Dec. Try to meet them during one of these events. In the past, a lot of folks have gotten interview calls just by showing up to these events and demonstrating their interest in the Cox MBA program. MBA Off Campus Events: Full Time Program @ SMU Cox

I submitted my application yesterday and to my surprise got a F2F interview invite for 4th Dec today

The first invite of the season...

Congrats on your interview call! The admissions team is touring India during the 1st week of Dec and its a great opportunity to interview face to face. They did not do that way last year. (they did it the year before though).

I submitted my appli on 16th Oct and haven't heard anything from school...and it is increasing my anxiety !!

The admissions team has been touring round the country conducting MBA events and meeting prospective students. They are back on campus now and I am sure they are busy working on all the 1st round applications. You will hear from them soon, do not worry.

Rankings are all flawed and biased. Read and understand the methodology for each ranking and then decide.

@ s138884: Since all of the Indians in your batch have gmat score of 700+, so would that be of significant disadvantage for me as my gmat is 670 ?

I was counting on my 6 years of cross-functional experience in steel industry to compensate for my lower gmat, as I assume that most of the 700+ candidates of your class would be from IIM categorie -Indian + IT + Male....what would be your take on this ?

Not all Indians in my class have 700+ on GMAT. If I said anything different anytime before then let me correct myself now. "MOST" of the Indians have 700+

You would be amazed by the breadth and depth of experience of your classmates. Like I said before, you definitely have an experience different from most Indian applicants. Highlight your leadership experience/potential in your application/essays/interview. It is hard to conclude anything about your candidature purely based on your GMAT.

720 GMAT does not guarantee acceptance and 580 GMAT does not mean rejection. (580-720 was the GMAT range middle 80% for the class of 2011)

Cox was not one of the schools I was planning to apply to...but the app fee waiver and your prompt replies have helped me make a decision. Keep up the good work

If app fee waiver has enticed you, wait till you hear this - more than half of the class gets merit scholarship. Almost all of the Indians in my class are awarded the merit scholarship which is 75% of the the tuition fee. Couple of other have an additional Marketing scholarship. And one Indian student has the Cox Distinguished scholarship which entitles him/her to full tuition waiver plus a whole lot of perks.

Compare the merits/strengths and weakness of all schools you are applying before you make your final decision. Talk to alumni, current students, faculty of each of these schools.
