I had already registered for the CFA level-1 exam (to be held this december) a couple of months back and had paid the required fee. Yesterday, I received a similar mail stating that CFA institute will currently not accept any registrations for Indian students even if they opt to take the test outside India.
Since I've already registered for the test, does it mean I'm not elligible to take the test this december? (Note that my exam center is Frankfurt, Germany) Or does it mean I'm safe and any student trying to register for the test now will not be able to do that. If the latter is true, why did I receive such a mail in the first place?
I did send them a query but am yet to hear from them. Meanwhile if someone has any information on this, please do let me know.

Well I think this temprorary ban is on all persons of Indian origin residing anywhere in the wrld....this is wat i interpreted........dun know for sure

Well currency appreciation and depreciation depends upon capital account and current account increase or decrease......when relative int rate of suppose India increases..theoritically more foreign investments will take place in India...this will increase inflow of foreign capital ....thus increasing Capital Account Balance.........This will appreciate Indian Rupees......Now as rupee gets appreciated ....another currency suppose Dollar will depreciate with respect to rupess........now this will make the American goods cheap..hence Imports will increase....this increase in imports will make the current Account negative..thus deprecaiting the Indian rupees.....Its a cycle.....Remember....

Capital Ac/Current Ac Increase - Appreciates Domestic Currency

Capital Ac/Current Ac Decrease- Depreciates Domestic Currency

When Capital A/c and Current A/c are acting opposite..Capital A/c effects dominates......

Any eco effect ..just relate it to capital or current acc and then see whther rupee will appreciate or depreciate..........

If freshers want to apply the what should they mention as their professional achievement which is asked in the application form? I am yet to start my career and hence have achieved very little things(Nothing In fact) in professional life.

thanx a lot for the clarification. I don't really care for the 300 bucks as the pain involved in going all the way to the bank, getin the draft cancelled and getting a new one is too much. Also, can't leave the office everyday for bank work (boss with big eyebrows..!). Is it ok if I send the same draft (for Rs 1000) and a letter telling them the discrepency? Giving more money should't be a reason to reject the form???

Well I dont think there shuld be any problem in this regards.(but as sumitro said.....prevention is better than cure...so please get it changed )....ater sending the draft.....give us the regn number...we wil let u know the details.....

Anyway VGSOM is totally student driven........we would be an integral part of the admissions process so please dont wrry about anything..................the acadcomm would be formed pretty soon.....phone numbers of student co-ordiantor would be there on the website.....

This is done as aspirants are more comfortable in interacting and sharing problems with ppl of their same age...........

Wanna reiterate .....dont wrry abt ur applications or drafts..till we are here..........go ahead in filling the forms ......small problems would be taken care of.......
