Nice article and it would give a better perception on the placement reports, though I have read it very late but at the right time.I would like to make out one point after going through it. You have mentioned that people often miss the simple math and logic that half of the students would definitely lie below the average package, but I believe this statement should not be right always because all the students may get the package marginally less or more pacakge than the average and thus giving the same average package. Now I would say, you had also missed a simple math and logic ;-).After all,it is the people who bring the glory to the material and not the vice-versa. Anyways, thanks for the eye-opener attempt.
