I too have a doubt on this - option D states "RBI envisages the role of facilitator for itself...". The 2nd para 2nd line begins "our view on bank consolidation..." so taken from there, the last line of that para mentioning RBI as facilitator must be the authors' view and not the RBI...

I checkd the RC just now ....the sentence goes like "However the Indian banking has not consolidated itself in a maneer as envisioned by narsimhan comiittee ." thats y i marked option C.envisioned and foreseen are synonyms..and the RBI facilatator in the next para seems view of author ..i believe this is one of the crzy tricks IIFT has played on us

i too have marked the same option....only ims keys give this as the correct option....
However i feel, 'if' is more apt than 'whether'.....we'll have to wait and watch out till 20th Dec.

dude....let me clarify this question
Firstly kindly google the synonyms of envision (as mentioned in the passage...1st para, 5th last line).....you will find that forsee is a syn of envision....so this is absolutely the correct answer, no doubt about that......
Secondly, please do not misquote the option in the question paper......u are writing "rbi envisages itself as a facilitator fr future acquistions"...however, the option given by IIFT is "Reserve Bank of India envisages the role of a facilitator for itself in the direction of bank consolidation".....which simply differs from what is mentioned in the passage as rbi envisages the role of a facilitator for reorganisation of banking system (i.e for other banks) and NOT for itself.

then i assume the option C will be correct where it is mentioned about the narsimhan comittee no fully satisfied with the Indian banking development

IIFT does not have sectionals unless explicitly mentioned ..onlya non negative score will do..please sop pandering ovver this question

aar in the pasage it is given that narsimhan commitee has envisioned the scenario whereas the q/s says foreseen.. nnow the thing is that envisioned means a possible future based on opinion whereas foreseen means prediction which are poles part meaning..
the rbi part says that rbi envisages itself as a facilitator fr future acquistions. now envisage means also same as envision .... so D seems to be more correct.

in one of the questions where we are asked to identify the correct sentence

ther were two statements 'narsimhan comitte has also not approved of the changes envisioned by it for the banks '

amd the second sentence being it sees itself as a role of a facilitator ..


according to me both are correct ...zyada correct kaun sa hai

for SET C question number 55 (passage on indian banks )..i belive there are two correct answers to the question as

It clear;y mentioned in the first para that Indian banking system has not consolidated over the years ...

and also that RBI wants to see itself as a facilitator ..i believe both are correct and mentioned in the passage .
