Hi Vidit Please bring whatever documents you presented at the time of verification, unless you were told at that time to bring something else. Its better if your work-ex certificate has your doj (they normally do). Kind Regards - Richa
Seniors, Is the relieving letter necessary or will the work experience certificate suffice? I am asking this coz I was working with a startup and will have to get the required letters. Also, is the date of joining supposed to be mentioned on the relieving letter? Thanx in advance...

Tricky question Sumit!! Well, if you really want to, go through some basics. Otherwise, as long as you study here, you'll be fine. It does a few weeks to get used to management esp if you have a work-ex. :) However, do not study too hard. Enjoy the break. You won't get much of it here!! ...
I was curious, Do we need to read something before coming to college. I mean Management would fall hard on Engineers right? Specially Finance, I am sure I am going to have a rough time with finance.
So please suggest should we come prepared with any subjects?

In that Medical form we have to fill date of vaccination... should we leave it blank or what. Because I am sure nobody remembers the date..

Of course nobody remembers them. That is where the medical/ vaccination records come in handy. Your parents must have kept yours safely. Fish them out and record the dates. Else, rely on their memory. Certain vaccinations are a must for a new born baby, so, you must have had them. If you don't have the records, calculate the year of vaccination and fill it.
Hi Today was the last day to withdraw admission. Please wait for a couple of days for the processing to be finished off. We'll declare the status of waiting list as soon as it is done. Some questions have been purposefully ignored. I am sorry for that but you guys should have taken the hint...
So,when do we get the 2nd list? Why no official notification till now about the 2nd List's approx/confirmed date? Why no replies to the questions of "Buffer Calls"?
Disappointed.
Hi Dude,
I guess there would be a second list (only if they have not given buffer calls in the first list itself..). A couple of guys have converted other calls and will be cancelling admissions. Atleast this is what i got from the FB page.
Hope this helps

Seniors pls reply,
What will be the amount of fee that will be forfeited if i withdraw my admission after 11th June?? (I am waiting for other results) There hasnt been any reply from the admissions office.
Thanks
Seniors,
Perhaps DoMS IIT M is the only one to have not come up with a 2nd list yet. Earlier conversations suggest the 2nd list will be put up on 11th June.
One question I have repeatedly raised and has never been answered is whether buffer calls were given in the first set of offers; or not. I would again request you to provide us with the same.
Nervously, Thanks.

If you withdraw your admission after 11th June, then, the MHRD rules and guidelines will be applicable. The director's decision will be final and binding in regards to that. If office hasn't been able to say anything, then, even I can't help you because I also don't know the details to that. However, try the office tomorrow. They should have an answer by then as the deadline would have elapsed.

Is there any dress code (colour in particular) regarding the formal suit which we will need during the course?
Thanks Nishant Jairath
Hi Nishant
We, at DoMS, IIT-M, adhere to strict dress codes. All the regular classes have to be mandatorily attended in casuals. :D
However, All the guest lectures and placements (obviously) have to be attended in formals only. Don't bring any business suit. A suit will be made for the entire class so that a uniformity prevails esp. during placements. Your class will get to pick the design and color for it.

I am coming on 23rd Morning 8 30. And our reporting time is at 9 on the same day. What should I do?

Hey
If you are reaching Chennai at 8:30 am, then there is no way you'll be in campus before 9:30-10 am. Call up DoMS office and state your predicament. Do as they guide you.
However, if you are reaching campus by 8:30 am, then ask someone to be in his room. I'm sure you must have made friends by now (thanks to FB). Keep your luggage there. Get dressed in 10 mins and reach DoMS by 9 am. Else, go to hostel office and ask for a room. If you get free before 5, then finish off your hostel formalities in CCW so that you can get your room.
Regards - Richa
P.S. My advice... Get here a day in advance, because, you'll need a few things to make your room livable!!

People who are coming on 22nd July, if you come between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m, you will be able to finish off your hostel formalities in hostel management office (CCW) on the same day itself and the room will be allotted to you that. However, if you are arriving after 5 p.m., then either make alternative arrangements for your stay or crash with a friend who has a room.
