When I said not optional and is based on voluantary basis means, students opt for it and it is conducted only when there are people willing to pay for it. It is not a hidden component because it is not cumpulsory.

The fee structure at MITSOB is rs 2.75 lacs per year. As understood it includes laptop, textbooks, seminars, industrial tours, placement charges, uniform, examination,convocation etc. There are no cumpulsory hidden fees. The foreign tour is optional not cumpulsory and is paid for those who voluanteer for it.

Foreign tour is optional and is planned based on the response of the students. For the price tahy charge, its really atreat. Last time the students visited companies like L'oroel in Paris, Mercedes Benz and BMW in Germany, Swiss industry in Geneva, Diamond factory at Amsterdam in addition to mueseums and site seeing. I understand the it was a very comfortable from start to finish .

With a score of 561, you can appear directly for the selection process at MITSOB. I suggest you visit the website and register online by choosong an appropriate date. As per AICTE guidelines, any student appearing for CAT/MAT/CMAT/ATMA/XAT need not appear for any other examination. Topics for extempore are common and general topics which any student with normal general awareness can tackle. That need not be an issue for worry.

Your chances are very bright. MITSOB gives prefers studens with sound academic background and yoou seem to have one. So go ahead and apply at the earliest.

With 70 percentile you are eligible to apply for MITSOB. The final selection has seperate weightage based on the scores secured by the candidate in MAT/CAT/XAT/ATMA/CET. As regards MITSOB and MITSOM, my personal recommendation is MITSOB because it is an autonomous course with flexibility and better learning opportunity. When it comes to placement, MITSOB is way way ahead of MITSOM in number and packages. MITSOB follows Harvard Business School pattern which is very unique. My advice is that you should apply for MITSOB

I know placement is a very important factor, but being only focussed on it would be in correct. I feel that yo must see the strength of the program and how it can make you better. Whether the present strength of placed students is 82 or not is not the matter. What should be of interest is that companies are visiting the campus and there is continuing opportunity. I feel you should take a decision on facts.

The placement figures reflect the currrent status. The process is ongoing and will continue till May -June. Hence, there is no reason to think that what is othe web site is the final figure. This year based on the response, the figures are expected to be very good by the end of placement season. The point for a student to consider is that placement is a function of individual performance. The institute provides a platform, as on date close to 100 companies have visited and more are in the pipeline on a daily basis. I suggest that if you take the course seriously and actively involve yourself in the value addition activites, you will surely be the amongst the early ones to be placed.
