My scores as per IIM key is DI-50 and Maths 33 Verbal 38 OA 121. This way I am losing 20 marks.There must be something wrong.Is there any way I can request for copy of my OMR or have a rechecking by filing RTI. I am damn sure about my marks.:sad::sad:

You should go for RTI if you are so sure. But its very unlikely that IIMs would do this kind of blunder (sometime it happens that we think that we have marked one option, but actually we marked some other - may be due to speed or tension of exam - this happened to me several time in mock CATs)

one more thing.... what %ile range wud the overall score fall in with those sectionals ??

Plz post ur score to predict your overall percentile. Its difficult to predict OA %ile based on your sectional %iles.

im scoring approx 95 %ile in both VA & QA and 85%ile in DI.

what would that add up to in the overall score ??

You may not get call from MDI and NITIE at 96 %ile (last year MDI gave call at 97.5+ and NITIE at 98.24+)

Call from SPJ depends on your overall profile (CAT+Acads+ECA+WorkEx).

You would get call from IMTG.

well the prob is i have no wrk experience and almost no extra curricular activities ..so is there any chance in sp jain ?? and i havent applied for nitie ..the last date is over so 2 more colloges plz

You have excellent academics... so i think you should get call from SP Jain (also IIMB if you cross 85 percentile in each section). Extra curricular matters, but I think you can justify not having ECA because you devoted your time in acads and your result shows it...

Now regarding other colleges... i think you should try for XLRI, FMS, IIFT and IIT-Bombay (all these not through CAT).

Through CAT, the next best colleges would be IMTG and IMI (my personal opinion). Since you are fresher, I would suggest that work for 1-2 years (if you have got job), and try for the best... i.e, IIMs. But if currently you dont have job and you are desperate for MBA now, then go for the above mentioned colleges.

I didn't fill up forms for MDI and NITIE as I gave CAT casually after a terrible season last year.

Please suggest me whether getting into IMT Ghaziabad will actually add to my profile, keeping into account my 4 years of work exp.

I would suggest you should give GMAT and try for ISB.

Whether MBA from IMT-G would add value to your career or not depends on what are your career goals. If you have some specific profile in mind (considering your 4 years of work-ex), then its better to find out whether those profiles are offered in IMT (or in any other college where you are applying). Then take informed decision.

hi everyone.... writing cat for d first time... here are my marks as per d various keys

qa-29(time,ims,cf etc)
di-38(time - 33) - really disappointed as it was supposed to be my stronghold
va-46-56 ( committed a blunder of shading the wrong option in one question)

overall - 108-123

seniors pls give ur opinion as to where i stand.. wat pc can i expect... abt other than iims... i haven applied to mdi so its out...

do i apply to spjain... i have 97 pc in 10th.. 91pc in 12th and 80 pc in graduation... have heard profile matters a lot... am a final yr student..

also i hv applied to nitie ... will this mark be enough for a call... generally wat pc do they look at....

i kno its a lot of questions but i m looking ahead... not too disappointed wit cat coz i hardly worked but just wrote d mocks... lots of other tests coming up... so gotta be optimistic...

I can give you last year cut offs:

Nitie: 98.24 (OA) and I think it was 80+ for sectionals.

IIMA: 99.30 (OA) and 95.6 for sectionals
IIMC: 95.07 (Sectionals) (Cant remember the overall, I think around 99+)
IIMK: 98.09 (OA) and 92+ for sectionals

For IIMB, profile matters a lot. You have an excellent profile. I believe you should get call from IIMB if you clear sectionals (85+ I think). IIML also looks for overall profile and they give importance to work-ex. Not sure for IIMI.

Last year 99%ile was around 116. I got 99.27 with a score of 119.42. Got L and K calls.

Cant speculate what can be the cutoff this year, but surely, it will be more than last years'.

U have cracked CAT 2008 buddy. As quant was tougher than last year i am very sure this score in quant will get you no less than 95+ percentile and overall even you have realized by now that its a 99.99 percentile score. So just chill and enjoy and prepare for most imp next stage.
