Hi ssbsag....Heartiest congratulations.....I will be staying in private flat.... Maybe you can also contact someone from the forum and find a group of 3-4 and look for a flat, if you dont want to stay in the hostel.
@saurabh Difficult considering its third round.Sri_r: My personal opinion, u need to take GMAT again Guys, how many confirm to join. Did any one get confirmation on PGPP Hostel?Fooding is a major issue....but if many people staying at one place, we can order nice tiffin at reasonable price.

I am applying to final round mba admissions for jan '13 intake..i had a query reg reco letters. Most of the forms I filled ask reco letters to be filled online by the recomender at some links mailed to them. However,I wanted to know how does it work for SMU. Dont they mail online links to recomenders. Will I have to get the reco template manually filled from recomenders , signed and scanned and mailed to SMU ?

This seems to be a good option. I was thinking of staying in commonwealth PGP hostel or this one. But being a vegetarian, was wondering if any of you here are vege. If so, probably we can select one apartment

I applied in round -2 and today received the mail from SMU that I have been put on waitlist for diversity reason. Is there anyone in the same boat or all get the interview calls from SMU.
Hi Ashish,
I got the opportunity to attend an info session at SMU and managed to caught hold of people from career services, current students and SMU's marketing manager. The later was very candid and told me, they already have selected quite a good number of Indians. And they wouldn't want a classroom to look 'un-international'. Having said that, he also pointed out, like Varun mentioned, if they get good number of quality applications, they may consider expanding the class size. So all I can say is hope for the best.
To others - my general observation is that switching careers in Singapore is a tad difficult. Nothing to do with SMU (I have a close friend in NUS as well), but that is the general trend in Singapore.
Agree, its early. But I spoke with a current student, and he didn't get the Hostel because of unavailability (all rooms already taken up). Although, this seems a new Hostel for PG students, but I didn't want to take a chance. Guess in due course of time we can negotiate on the early payment...
Thanks Rajat for sharing the info, quite useful link to all the admitted guys.
I have one query though: If accepted we need to pay 2/3rd fee before we actually go there (by Nov, 2012). Isn't it too early to apply or to early to pay that much amount of fee?

Guess in due course of time we can negotiate on the early payment part.
Having said above, I can assure one can get separate room of one's own at much less a price elsewhere. All depends on where one wants to stay.
Dear All, There seems to be a new link for hostel application for postgraduate students: Hostel I have applied for the same. Those who are looking for hostel accommodation can go through the same. Cheers
I'm yet looking for someone from SMU who has stayed/is staying in the Hostel. Probably will go to college and meet someone there and post what I manage to find out. Meanwhile from what I was told from a student (who didn't get the hostel, being late in applying), mostly stay in Commonwealth Ho...
I guess everyone would prefer hostel. What I was asking is in which hostels are the current students staying.

You mean they are actually changing status! I applied on 31st Dec 2011, was interviewed on 28th Feb 2012. Still shows wait-listed. Nevertheless, have moved on and accepted elsewhere. Assuming so would be the case with many other candidates. Wonder the logic behind such a prolonged waitl...
I spoke to current students. They suggested to stay in hostel, because we have more updates on lectures and class related stuff, than when you stay aloof. Commonwealth hostels are fully furnished 2 rooms flat, to be shared by 4 people. Though a lil far from college, I'll take them. " Do you ha...

" Do you have any other options available?" This question is regarding Hostel's?
