How many seats are there in IIT-K MBA program?

Is it true that K doesnt have a dedicated MBA department?

Seniors please tell us about the course, and experience at IIT-K

The Industrial and Management Engineering dept was set up in 1974 and was one of the first in the country to recognize the strength of combining the training of engineers with management.
In all other IITs similar dept is called Dept of Management Studies, and is conducting the MBA program.
Here at IIT Kanpur the dept was established long back and retained the old name...
Now a dedicated state of the art building for the dept is at its final stage of construction.....

Hi

Dept of HSS, IIT Kanpur conducted a short term course on Global Financial Management from 4th to 13th February 2009. The course was taken by Prof. Dr. Michaela M. Kiermeier, Professor Financial Management, Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Dr. Michaela, an expert in portfolio management, have visited many universities around the world and conducted short term courses in Finance.

First and second year MBA students who wanted to specialize in finance were also invited to attend the course. The main objective of the course was to make the students understand and adapt to changing and challenging global environment. The course also enabled the students to acquire and apply knowledge and tools in various financial areas to solve business problems in global context. The course helped students to get introduced to global financial management. It also assisted the future managers to get acquainted with concepts, activities and management techniques related to the planning and coordination of international aspects of finance, portfolio management, and risk management.

Lectures, discussions and case analyses formed the course pedagogy. Students took presentations as part of the performance evaluation and participated in the discussions. At the end of the course Dr. Michaela was happy to see a group of young and dynamic professionals who were keen to know each and every nuance in the field of finance.

We got an unprecedented number of applications this year.
Our admission team which includes professors are making sure that each and every aspects given by you in the forms are taken into consideration before publishing the final list ....
So it will take some more days for the results to be out

The results will be published in our website and individual letters will be sent out to all the selected candidates....

The department is receving a lot of application forms and is in the process of verifying them.... The process will go on for some more days as the last date is jan 30. So be patient and frequently check our website for updates

Right now we cannot check the status of the application form. It will be known only after the verification of the forms are over, which will start only after the last date for receiving the application form.....
So please wait and check the India Post website to track ur speed posts.....
