its been a month @ ies n things r finally settled around here... feels gud to b part of ies though initial days were struggling mainly due to travelling n adjusting here was wee bit difficult...
but i must mention dat dis college is certainly beautifull place to study n hoping to hv an excellent 2 yrs ahead n gr8 time... congrats to oders who hv joind... :)

hey punit..really in a fix..im wrking rite nw in a finance company...its been 2 yrs nw...my package wil b arnd 4 lacs here....u think i shud still invest in ies...where il have to put in 2 yrs,.pay arnd 4.5 lacs in fees...lose ma salary n exp..and also interst on dat salary and da fees dat ive paid...pls help...very urgent...wud like opinion of other seniors too...

Hmm, To be point blank honest.. if i were in your shoes i wouldn't have taken admission.

After working hard for 2 years.. aim for a top notch B School.. that will pay you handsomely with a profile that will will be at a level above your current profile. That will brighten your career tremendously :cheers:

From whatever i know, i think around 195 -200 students are already placed out of 236 (MMS, PGDM and Pharma)

Wanted to know that if we complete CFA Level 1 by the end of MMS Sem IV, would such jobs become easy to get ?
As in this added certification might surely make one more employable. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also could u brief me about the profiles that E & Y has to ofeer on campus ?

One more query, isn't there chance of Finance grads from IES to get a job in atleast the Boutique firms in IB. I know the Bulge Bracket firms are outta question !

Hi Dev,

CFA will most likely give you an added advantage over others in terms of knowledge. It 'MAY' in 'some cases' even favour you in shortlisting and selection during interviews.

In our batch, not too many pursued CFA (barely 2-3).. so it was even steven for all students during interviews.

Yes, fair chances in boutique IB firms after doin an MBA from IES and a CFA (some levels). So far, we havn't seen the trend of Boutique IB firms coming to IES for campus Placements as you must be aware that they by nature are short staffed and are very selective in recruiting. But you can certainly try from your own sources.

E&Y; had picked up around 20 odd students for summers from batch 2009-11. Then for Executive Placement they picked up few students (2-3). Profile was Consulting.(Management, Projects, Risk etc)

Later in the next batch i think they picked 4-5 for Summers. Final Placement we ll come to know only after December 2011. Lets see

By Research i mean entry level basic to medium Fundamental Analysis .. not hardcore Equity Research

ER/IB profiles you'll find only in the creme de la creme B Schools!

MT's in an organisation are trained in various facets of Finance and after few months a specialized area in Finance is given to him/her

2) Lot of big names have come in for Executive placements this year . However, conversion totally depends upon a) the ability and attitude of students b) the requirements of the company.
