SIR.. i come 2 know that jharkhand comes under bihar region in cbdt..so if i got allocated in bihar by SSC..then bihar IT department would ask me my preference to join bihar or jharkhand according 2 my rank or they would allot randomly?

PRAVEEN SIR, u are iti in chennai .please tell me in how many years an ITI becomes ITO? i hav read that it varies from zone to zone...please throw some light on it. i have to fill state option accordingly.....

in chennai for ur candidate avg 5-6 years to become an ITO....in delhi ,bihar,up...it took 9-10 years.... in west bengal 3 and half years....but u will not survive in chennai.... because every one from northern people are not staying here and avoiding ITO promotion.....please fill state option as per ur convienience....if unemployed then all the state option......ATB

Thanx sir, may i ask you generally how long does it take to get your first promotion from income tax inspector to become income tax officer?

First u have to clear ITI confirmatory test which consist of 4 papers. exams are held during june-sep of every year. then after clearing this u also have to clear ITO exam consists of 4 papers. after that u will be promoted to Income tax officer which is a gr.B gazetted post. but it varies from zone to zone.. normally it takes 5-9 years to be promoted as ITO for UR candidates......

thanx sir but what about dadar and nagar haveli which zone does it come under.
and i also want to know about the inter-state transfer..is it possible coz i am from Uttar Pradesh so i want a state nearby.

interstate trnsfr u will get only after completing 3 yrs of service as per present policy, but u will loose ur seniority once u want to go to ur native state.....

thanx a lot for your humble reply sir. could you also tell me whether the postings in different districts in a state is done as per the rank of the candidate or randomly. or do we get an option to choose which part of the state we want to be posted at. i am asking coz i have been selected as an income tax office in maharashtra and dadar and nagar haveli with rank 258. so are candidates with lower ranks going to end up being posted in dadar and nagar haveli.

posting in state(zone ) is randomly done....but in ur case maharashtra has 3 zone mumbai,pune and nagpur.... so they allot ur zone as per ur rank too....

Sir Could you tell me about the medical examination for income tax inspector.like is it just a formality or more than that? is it done at the place of posting or is the fitness certificated issued by the district cmo of the candidate's state acceptable.

now a days it is required to submit the medical fitness certificate from ur own issued by the district cmo of the candidate's state is acceptable....ATB....

First of all a very big congratulation to u for ur success..... i got ITI through CGL 2010... presenly i m posted in Chennai.... I got Asst.Enforcement Officer in my home state Bihar this time with cgl 2011..... i will most probably join as AEO after rendering technical resignation from my present post of ITI....

I joined in Chennai in mid october.... as you know last time CBDT did the state allocation only in month of august..... there is a 60 working days training for dirct recruit inspector, which is presently ongoing in chennai..... ATB.....
