Heard that along with ALCOM, PLACECOM and SAC are the major commitees in IMT. But in the academic calender, events related to ALCOM are present and none regarding the other 2.Just wanted to know what activities related to PLACECOM and SAC

Are there any courses available, which would lead to "operations" as a specilization?

By the way, what about 'Consulting'?? Couldn't find electives in this specialization!!

P.S: Just curious as 'Consultancy' companies hire a big chunk of mba grads from top b-schools

Few queries/perceptions regaring PGDM(Finance). Please reply/comment

1. What is the % split up of profiles of the students in Finance? More specifically, how many of them are from Commerce background and how many from Engg??
I know the first part is difficult to answer(appreciate if possible), but you can give a ballpark figure for the second part.

2. As an Engg graduate, I feel that I'm at a disadvantage if I take finance as I have to compete with people from Commerce background who are well versed with the basics. Isn't it an uphill task??(Purely personal opinion)

3. How many students opt to take up other certifications/exams like CFA?
(Again an approximate number if possible)

4. Any Engg grads who get into banks like JP Morgan Chase, Citibank etc. ? As the previous workex for them is not relavant for these banks.

I understand that few observations are biased. NOM whatsoever.

Regarding CURRICULUM for 09-10 batch(who have majors and minors)

From what I observe, first year curriculum is same across all courses(FT,FIN,HR..)

Coming to the 2nd year, terms IV and V have 6 electives each and VI has 3 electives. Which of these electives stand for Majors and minors?? Seniors pls reply...

Guess there is no further clarification in the website. Let me know if otherwise..

P.S: Just wanted to undestand the scenario for our seniors to assume/expect what we can get in the name of dual specialization.

Got a bit confused with the concept of DUAL SPECIALIZATION. I hope IMT admin clears the air regarding this sooner than later.

My doubt: I am into FT. Can I do majors in Finance and HR? or major in Finance and minors in HR?

My DD has reached the Admissions Office. I called up the Admissions Office on a cell number given in the contact info on the website (so far I'd been trying the land line) and guess what - someone answered, asked me for my CAT TR No, then immediately said, "mila hai, mila hai...Pranav Joshi na? DD mila hai"..

It's nothing unique. It's in the Admissions Office Contact Nos. list itself. But it was answered immediately whereas the land line remains busy or ringing for days

Seniors need your urgent help!! I hv gt PGD(IT)

Am currently working in a major IT firm for last 3.5 months. I gave papers today for one month notice prior to resignation. Bt the cmpany says we are waiving off the notice period and you wud b relieved by 2mrw.. :banghead:

The bond amount is ok-ok nt obscene, I had earlier thot of paying it back. bt now, as they wud be releasing me 2mrw.. i do not wish to pay the bond amt.. as it is financialy nt feasible..

So, my query is, does IMT or future companies ask fr release letter? I hv nt mentioned my wrk ex to IT dring PI.

I do not wish to wrk in field of IT in future, bt if a situation arises where i hv to go back totht company. what are my chances of getting caught? :banghead:

Chances of getting caught in the future?? I don't know...But you are bound to legal action if the company doesn't receive the bond amount!!

My friend, you are saying that the bond amount is 'ok-ok'...so what is the problem if u r relieved one month frm nw(as classes commence from june21) or just nw..the difference will b one month salary right?

One monthe salary + bond amount equivalent to bond amount(I'm Guessing, as you didn't mention the figures)

One suggestion(although unwarranted)...pls be carefull!!
