Since the seniors and the admissions department have told that there is no movement for general category as all the seats have been taken up by the first list converts, I humbly request the seniors to please address this :-
=> As per the info passed on to the aspirants, the last date for fees payment and securing admissions for the first list direct converts was 24th april. So this implies, the fact that all seats had been taken up, was known to the college by 24th/25th April, then why wasn't this information passed on to the aspirants on 25th april itself (the due date of the first waitlist). All I wish to ask is, why were the aspirants conveyed this on 3rd may ?? Its evident that if all the seats were taken up by 25th april then there was no activity with regard to fees payment and admissions from 25th april to 2nd may. At this point of time, when everyone is running tight on notice periods, other college's fees deadlines and numerous other issues, we as aspirants were just left stranded for the past one week with no clear information being conveyed to us.
=> Secondly, I understand that its solely the college's discretion but if unlike previous years, any buffer calls were given this year then it could possibly have been conveyed to us so that we as aspirants did not keep speculating our chances of a convert based on previous years trends. Again, I am aware that previous years movements are just predictive indicators and not accurate ones but with multiple calls, these movements are helpful for the aspirants to some extent.
With all due respect to the seniors and the admission policies, I understand that admissions is a delicate and a closed door process, and the seniors don't have a say in it, but it would have been appreciated if a clearer picture had been presented to the aspirants on the due date of first waitlist itself i.e. 25th april.

PKDK @Asadali dude if u r born wid golden spoon,it does not mean everybody is like u.......and even a father criticize and scold his son.....does it mean every parent should abandon his son....man dont give illogical arguments......u r going to be a future manager.......@ziddu69 i dont know why @Asadali is sticking to only one argument.....u r going to take admission there so dont criticize it.......
Asadali @ziddu69 Dude i agree on this part. People have to really shell out a lot of money. And I am in the same boat. But there is very little that we can do in this regard. Nobody wants to miss out on a good college. And the admission process of institutes is such that there are so many overlaps. But what can an institute do to help us if thee waitlist is not moving or for some reason it has been withheld. Rest assured they are not playing with us. Just that certain things take time. I totally agree that there is a lot of anxiety among the waitlisters but that should not come out in the form of defaming a college or its worth. Had it not been so worthy people would not have been simply wasting their time around on this forum. @PKDK@DarkJedi Sorry if any of my post offended you. I agree you people are anxiously waiting for the movement but at the same time you people are also going to be future managers. So you should also be a bit patient. All the best. I wish all the waitlisters out here make it into the institute.
darshananair @DarkJedi Would like to tell you a few things here. When you make accusations of the college being intellectually further and hiding things, find out what happened first. Most importantly, the seniors are not "supposed" or "expected" to reply here and it is no obligation on our part. We do it out of our interest to help candidates because we went through this process last year. So please stop cribbing and blaming the seniors for all the help we are doing. And personally, I have seen posts by you saying that you converted but you are joining NITIE. For the same reason, I cant understand what makes you so interested in the IIM Shillong waitlist movement apart from tarnishing the image of the college. My apologies to everyone else for such a comment here. I sincerely understand what you all must be going through. But please do not encourage such negative participation here because this really demotivates me from even wanting to help someone who might genuinely need some guidance and i might be able to. I am sure this feeling is shared by the rest of my bacthmates too. This comment has purely been made as a personal remark and not as a student of IIM Shillong. I hope you all understand.

Hi All, All answers in Synapse are verified before being posted and no such information has been given out in Synapse. It might be a case of miscommunication on the part of the individual concerned. All of you must understand that Synapse is maintained by students who take time out of their busy schedule to reply with much authenticity to all queries. And last year the same trend of aggregate was followed. Regards, Poulomi
