farji001 All the same, we cannot force anything on anyone. So let us do our best, and focus on the only thing that we can do about this- try to do well and not to worry. If we get through OK. If not then also OK. At least we would have learned a lot of interesting stuff and corrected our English

enigmaticpranav @ Akki and Unregistered No, the people from coaching institutes who take the CAT, do not usually do better than the candidates. This is because their focus is on understanding what the present year's CAT is all about. Many times only one section is taken up by a coaching institute person, and even then his or her focus is on understanding the type and difficulty of questions, not on actually getting all answers right. So no, the do not necessary push down a meritorious candidate. In fact, the might push a couple of candidates upwards because they are unlikely to concentrate on both sections. I have personally worked at a coaching institute, and taken other exams like MAT for the institute. So I am speaking from absolute first hand experience. (I didn't take CAT/XAT/SNAP/NMAT?FMS for them, I took it for myself, to get into MBA, so don't count that). And consider this - if the coaching guys don't get a fair idea of each exam, their students will be the ones to lose out in the long run. Of course these institutes could find out from sources such as internet forums (like PG itself), but first hand experience is far more helpful than hearsay.

gofundoo you are right asa i agree with you the media doesint acknowledge it because of the fear that their channel will not get viewership after all people like to listen to people who agree with them. Even as of today the sensible Americans who saved for a rainy day and who were smart enough not to live beyond their means are living a good lifestyle with good savings and hefty dividends from their 401k. it is these guys who spent like crazy when credit was available from banks who are in trouble and jobless and like shoebmufc said the trouble is the FED and the government which is not being run efficiently The reason credit was so loose was that the banks need to be regulated by the NY fed like the RBI does in india where as There intrest rates were left low for an extensive period of time to Encourage spending rather than encourage saving.. same mistake is being done by bernanke now also.. in all this There is no fault of wall street even tough the media makes it look like they LENT MONEY etc seriously the only reason we dont have such crisis in india today is that the RBI has base CRR at 7.5% whereas there it was at 0.5 % for 5 years after 9/11 and now again.. such low intrest rates are what caused this whole crisis if anything blame Alan greenspan and OBAMA/Bernanke government for repeating his mistake. even now bernanke is worried about pushing home prices up LOL that should not be his agenda his agenda should be getting people employed the housing market will take care of it self IF anything THESE guys should be Protesting against Washington & the fed for Bad policy decisions. as far as the Bailouts go The bailouts were essential after all it is the FED who encouraged the banks to lend and pushed them to the brink. any one who knows anything about banks will know that it is near impossible to maintain profitability at 0% base rates without aggressive lending. and the bail outs were essential else they would be in a still worse shape.. if anything i say WALL Street should be protesting against WASHINGTON and they already are this time donations to OBAMA down 80% since last election this time the full money from wall street backing MITT& Ron Paul for next us pres

studentLondon To Rohitagar. Regarding initiative from UoW - it certainly seems this way, if you are outside of the picture, but it's not true. I'm afraid all UoW is doing is marketing for us, they have come up with a few names of colleges, they are assisting with credit transfer, but it is not a real transfer, which is what required to continue studies. In order to continue studies in the UK you need a new visa, sponsored by a new college. Firstly you have to pay new visa fees, freeze GBP 1600-7200 in your account for a month (depending on the stage you're at), pay new college or university fees, and worst of all, if the college you are applying to, is private you will not have the right to work part-time, it means you will need to find much more money to cover living costs in London. Plus you will probably have to fly home to apply for a new visa to continue studies, as the new course will have to start within one month from the visa expiry - our visas are likely to be curtailed to expire in early/mid December. The rules changed in July, when we were in the middle of our courses. So the 'initiative' from UoW does absolutely nothing to the fact that according to new rules, our total tuition cost in the UK will at least double and in some cases triple! And all that Tasmac owners have done is offer MBA in India and say sorry. Almost 2/3 of students are not from India, so this option will be prohibitively expensive as well.
