Sure, until and unless you come across life and career both jeopardizing experiences you will always enjoy your Bank job!But I am happy your initial experiences are good enough even in my friends circle the ones who have co-operative staff or BM and most importantly ready to teach you learn you are through and sailing.

just one month after joining, i would say bank po is a bitter crap.
Hell a lot of work to do , multitasking all the time and no tea break , no lunch break and no time for personal life , no written rules and regulations for officers.
WORK LIKE A STRAY DOG-Thats what a bank po is

Also the pay we get in hand just 20k that too after this hard work.
Is it worth'?????

My BM calls me in his office, hands over to me a letter from regional office.Its my confirmation letter Crap! I feel something rumble deep in my gut, horrified to be pakki employee of this Bank "BOB". On 3rd November 2011 I'll complete one year.

Lot of personal S**t is behind why I am still hanging on and would still until I make it somewhere else.

Above narrated experiences say enough about the stinky work culture at Public Sector Banks and I need not repeat it except Only a few points:-

1. Be ready to experience what Employee exploitation is in real
2. You become a scapegoat (considering you work honestly) or
much like pawns in a chess game, or soldiers at war front.The king ,the govt plays with their lives like puppets.
3. If you work at branch you are a sandwich, be ready to feel the heat from both ends; regional office, who will want you finish some work no
matter you are sick to death or anything else as a matter of fact and
then there are our precious customers ( worst are the ones who are high valued High net worth)
4. Team work Kind of thing does not exist.
5. Most of them will have attitude like "kuch bata diya to ehsaan kar diya"
6. The training are worthless.Why? because no dept. is
in any public sector bank is well organized.They have no idea how many
are going for diff training from same branch at the same period leaving at
times no officer at branch! Shocking! Most trainings are only Big words
unpractical.
7. Coming to the crux:
a)There is so much accountability for an employee
why and how's over target, customer complaints and blah blah
but surprisingly no accountability for anybody at any level for
employees grievances and complaints.
b) In the course, while performing under harsh conditions(overburdened,
unorganized, mismanaged) you make a mistake, bank will never ever
take any stand or provide protection instead bank will be first to
hammer you.
c) Because there is no Queue system all customers will throng onto you
to have their work done first ( more like a fish market) and it is then
you are vulnerable and can make mistake.

Not to forget the Politics, they say bob does not even have a transfer policy they do it at their whims and fancies and i am a victim right now!

9) Technology is only for Mockery!

I could go on and on complaining but whining is not the solution.
This is an urge to all those who plan to stay here for long make a career, it is high time we the new faces join hands together and find against this old rotten system to bring in new well planned HR policies, Transparency, accountability for employee grievances, codes and ethics , Employee Protection,depoliticize etc.

For the first six seven months I became frustrated, depressed and totally out of touch from rest of the world.The banks need us considering the heavy retirements and comparatively less intakes, this is right time to strike we have an upper hand because they need us and better treat us well.

I have not come to the terms that media has so easily ignored the heavy and ages long employee exploitation that still continues in Public Sector Banks, harassing and demoralizing human spirits for as long as it has been.

Most of teh POs who have joined recently are disclosing this kind of work enviornment in PSBs. I dont know whether this is bit discouraging for PO aspirants or not . I have seen similar posts in PO threads as well in past days .
and I think that they are correct , it is an universal truth that bank jobs are becoming risky jobs with less pay day by day .

as for your question regarding CGL , yes they are better than PO jobs. because you can get less pressure , less working hours also may be 5 or 6 and a better salary than PSB. however I would like to make a comment here with which most of puys may not agree but i will go on .
In our country most of the Govt jobs are being run by some sort of pressure whether it is Civil services , PSB jobs or CGL itself or it may be corporate sector . you need to face some pressure , obstacle every day in your job. CGL jobs are mainly for the post of Inspector and above an inspector there will be officers, commisnoers and above all politicians who can direct you for some steps which you might not be accepting at all .

overall it is the choice of selecting and moving forward .........:oops:

I agree with Omprakashece..pressure will be there in all jobs..but one question which peacealways wanted to ask is that whether CGL jobs are suited for girls?? (May be in terms of handling pressure from the men dominated bureaucratic world)

I think girls are at a disadvantage when it comes to making social contacts or monetary benefits which men enjoy more..

what are your views puys??

ASSISTANT CSS is considered a gr8 job fo girls....u dun get transfers at all(posting mainly in delhi).....a pure sitting job....enogh tym to prepare fo otha things...etc

so u try get dis post....rest ol things wil fall in place...

Could any one give me a clear picture regarding job profiles and work culture of various posts under CGL. And is it good enough for girls?

why i am asking: working as prob officer in a psu bank.joined in nov. planning to quit asap
reason: 1. even though u work hard honestly all day after 5 pm ur seniors kill ur time deliberatly.wont let u go before 7 even when there isnt any work:(
2.very risky job everything is unmanaged unorganized full with loopholes, u wont know before u are stuck in a major prob without any of your fault.
3. they make u stay in office from 10 to 7,8,9 as they wish and pay us penny for that

all in the name of " now u are officer " blah blah blah...

an insight into real world would help me decide better!

I know this forum is for PO aspirants but am hopeful there are a few in this forum who are serving as PO now. I would appreciate help.

Can anyone lemme know where to get JAIIB question paper or what topics are more weighted? i am working in bob right now and have followed this forum thoroughly before working. And hence am pretty hopeful my Jaiib queries would also be cleared here.

all of our experts please clear my doubt if ssc exams are good enough for girls in terms of striking balance between work and life??

Guys I appeared for SSC CGLE 2010 exam and finally got the post of Inspector of Income Tax.
Last year thread was not very much active during Tier-I and Tier-II exams coz our PO aspirants were not here on this thread...But now I can see a lot more participation this time for SSC as compared to last year. Our most active puy "Defence" used to be the HERO of this thread but nowdays he is missing since the final result of SSC got declared i.e. Jan 7th, 2010. Hope he is fine wherever he is and chasing his dream with the same madness he used to do on our PO thread.
Anyways puys rite now I am busy in SBI training and not able to get online much frequently, but still I'll try my level best to sort out the queries on this thread through my previous experience as much as psbl.
