i wud 1st suggest u to go through the 11th and 12th grade accounts text book to start from the basics.
thereafter, if u go through the institute's study material, it wud be manageable..

I have finished my B.E and i wanna shift my career path in finance and i choose cost accounting course in ICWAI. Pls help me out if i will be able to cope with the new subjects and what are the ground works that needs to be done b4 joining the course. And also, will a guy with commerce background + ICWAI have a greater preference than someone like me i.e non commerce background + ICWAI ?

since u have completed ur UG, u can directly appear for ICWAI Intermediate..
inter has two stages with 3 papers in each stage.
the 1st stage comprises of financial accounting,auditing& industrial laws, applied direct taxation..the 2nd stage comprises of cost accounting,operations mgmt& MIS,applied indirect taxation.
Being an engineer doent hamper ur chances..it jus requires an extra bit of effort and u can surely get through.a genuine interest in the course is wat is required.

The home page of IMI-K mentions that we need not pay the application fee incase we have already applied/paid for IMI-Delhi, but the online admission form for IMI-k has the DD column which has to be compulsarily filled.I have applied for IMI-Delhi and would like to be considered for the admission process in IMI-K as well. Please let me know the process for this....
