It is finally that time of the year when the first year students head out for their Out Bound Learning Program aka OBL .. .. organised by the TSAF..

What awaits us is 4 days in wilderness..miles away from civilization..living in self pitched tents, under the open sky...lack of usual amneties which we are used to in our daily life...and completely cutoff from the outside world..:iamcool:

but i have never seen a bunch of people more excited...:clap:
after all its not eveyday that you get to have bonfires & Video shows everynite..with rappelling, rock climbing, Caving, Orientering, Abseiling, Obstacle games,Island/forest Treks,Raft construction & Rafting, Kayaking:boat: ..and loads of other activites during the day..:gunsmilie:
I dont even know half of what those activites actually mean
the anticipation of the batch is already reaching fever pitch..


Section A guys leave today evening
and Section B will have their turn after we return..:iamcool:

Just one more query.. I have got the list of GD topics but li'l confused how to go about preparing for them.. Should i just hunt for newspaper articles, editorials.. or are there some books offering help on these.. ?? Plz suggest me how to start my GD prep..

well..my two cents..

*Read anything u can lay ur hands on..build up ur arguments..

*Then find someone who is free ..and bore them to death with ur arguments and counter arguments on each topic...

*Even Better....find someone who is in the same boat..ie an aspirant or someone who has recd/or is abt to receive a gd-pi call...and bore each other to death..

*Join a gd-pi class..u will find lots of people in the same boat.. the more people u argue with..the more fun .. in fact they will even teach u different and interesting ways to bore a wide range of people on a wide range of topics..

*If all the above ways dont work... then a la the hindi movie hero.. bore ur self by standing in front of the mirror.. in fact this will even give u a good idea abt how goofy we all look while arguing...

Last year's overall cutoff was 96.2 percentile and this year it is expected to rise..
so your overall percentile is too low for a call..

Ur overall cutoff is just on the margin...
last year the cutoff was 96.2 %
this year the cutoffs are expected to rise..
i am afraid that even though u will clear the sectional cutoffs..but u may not be able to clear the overall cutoff..
But still.. keep ur fingers crossed.. :)

And This yr the cutoffs are expected to rise..
i am sorry but i dont see a bright chance for a gd/pi call

You clear the sectional as well as overall cutoff percentiles according to last years cutoffs..
According to me.. you will definitley get a call..
You work ex, and acads are a factor which be considered during the interviews and not before that..
but start prepapring for the gd/pi

Your overall percentile is okay..and ur sectional percentiles in va and qa are good too..
But Ur LR sectional is smowhat low..compared to last year's sectional cutoff which was 75+ %
with cutoffs likely to rise this yr.. i dont feel that u stand much chance of getting a call..
