Guys, dont ever compare Civil service exams with any other. Nothing can come close to that. The proportion of number of candidates applying to the number of post may be high in the case of RBI Grade B officer. But still nothing can come close to the versatility and complexity in syllabus and pattern. And the scope for a civil servant is very high, as the run the whole system of state govts. and central govt. This is not an argument, just info regarding civil service for people thos who dont know abt it. At the same time, RBI Grade B Officer is tough and the job comes with a very good package which costs RBI 10 lac/year. But, you could clear prelims of Grade B, if ur time management is good and if u could complete the paper. The mains papers needs preparation and little writing practice.

@mou4 ya, jus 5 working days.... i attended interview Chennai on sat. only people who r incharge for d interview came. d whole office was empty.

@akash12345678 Sat & Sun holiday RBI... i guess its 8 hrs of work... no work pressure in RBI. Even in some govt. depts thr is work pressure but thats not d case in RBI

@akash12345678 RBI is an autonomous body. so, there wont be any direct political influence. Apart from that, increase in DA, Pay commissions are separate for RBI and other commercial banks. Working time is more or less the same bet RBI and other Govt Depts. There is possiblity to get bribe if u go to several govt. depts but thats not possible in RBI.... The work environment is also kinda similar but as far as i have heard, ppl say the work environment in RBI is very good. When i asked a lady who is working as an officer in RBI, she said "RBI is like Heaven".
