DEVILISHANGEL Indian B-Schools get a thrashing from Foreign B-Schools because they deserve so. For what reasons is a different matter altogether. But it does feel great to be part of a country that produces all this much of talent. The article is not misplaced in what it wants to do. It doesn't seemingly lie about anything. Both the deans at ISB and Great Lakes have said very very pertinent points and yeah the foreign B-Schools do reach out a lot but they charge a premium for reaching out too Lets make sure that the Indian B-Schools also take in 80-90 lakhs (or so) as fees and then talk about this (i am very anti-indian education system but our system is here to serve the masses and not the classes - which is the problem as well as the solution ) you see comments and you see cross-fire and you see critique better than what most national news channels have to offer on any and everything. Pagalguy is a great place because it gives such freedom, I would request the editors, admins and ban-ners to only ban the people when they and the readers here see a clear cut reason to otherwise the point of discussion is really lost. Frankly speaking PG doesn't even need to dignify such comments which talk about taking money etc. Even if you do then you are not liable to people who come and talk about this in a condscending way. Please follow the hoot to know more about how much out national media takes in money and then we shall critique PG - Trust me one of the most unbiased forums in India without a doubt - The fact that the moderators are sourced out of student community is in itself a proof of this. Right here on this article you can see every reason to why join, not join and Indian or a Foreign B-School. For a newbie this will be mecca of MBA knowledge. Its an earnest request not to moderate knowledge - opinion, if not biased, is part of knowledge too. Most authors here baring a few take things too personally. I am sorry but these are not signs of good authorship. Please be humble enough to take multiple points of view and this is a broad spectrum suggestion. Sorry but trust me, criticism is the best thing that can happen to an author. what you take as a serious allegation of corruption most probably is a nubile comment Young men and women make nubile comments all the while - if they hurt you then you agree to be the bigger, better and the more experienced guy and tell him/her humbly that what you said hurt you or that he/she made a mistake.

nyxie So true! but of course they entertain you when they are "sure" you're going to do a positive story/ highlight their achievements Otherwise, difficult to catch hold of these B-schools & more so if they are not the pvt. ones. And yes about students, i think it's not just restricted to B-schools. We even want to show that that our 'school was THE best/we have the Best CAR/Home or wtvr..I think that's how our parents have conditioned us -- don't say anything bad about 'your things' outside/you are told to always hush up matters, etc. Anyway, nice observations.. a good read!

Shwetaverizon I don't think this article was written to demean any Indian school or any authority. I always feel that PG articles are something which has given me a clear insight or may be even reflect what I have been thinking at the back of my mind .. although I am an Indian and proud to be one .. I am sorry to say that we are still to learn the business norms and basic etiquette of being polite to others.. stop thinking that we are the SUPERIOR ones..just coz a student is applying to a college doesn't mean the person on the other side of the desk is superior. The problem is also that India has a talented pool of applicants and our population is ever growing .. anyways leaving all that apart..when you want your business to grow -you cannot just sit in one corner of the country and expect to have a global mindset.. diversification is the key .. yes each and every country needs to think globally to GROW .. we cannot simply keep on producing managers who will cater to the needs of Indian economy .. in fact we need enthusiastic people with global mindset ready to be representatives of new vibrant India .. Amen

I can comment on sibm,banglore .. been there once for friend's interview.
This might help those who haven't visited the campus.
Everything is new over there and luckily everything is in place for new batch.
Seniors told us they didn't even have a canteen and faced lot of issues for food...
