Can someone throw some light on the role and responsibilities of a preventive officer and how is it different from Inspector - Central Excise.. Also, the posts of preventive officer are lesser than those of Central Excise.. any specific reason ???

I have a query.. While going for interview do we need to carry attested copies of all certificates from a gazetted officer or self-attested copies would do. They've mentioned in the call letter attested copies from a gazetted officer or self-attested.

for statistical investigator the score is out of 800 (Tier I + Tier II + Tier III)
and the cut off for UR is 495.. It might be possible that you have cleared this cut-off because of good score in Tier III paper but unfortunately could not clear other cut-offs by combining Tier I + Tier II only. Wish u all the luck

That question is wrong buddy, all the options are wrong. The solution goes like this:

Let CP = 100C, then SP=115C

If he had bought it for 25% lesser(75C) and sold it for Rs60 lesser(115C-60) his profit is 32C

Hence 115C-60-75C=32C
8C=60, C=15/2
CP=100C= 100*15/2=750(its not in the options)

now the cost is 75C.. so 32% profit means 32% of 75C which is 24C. Hence the answer comes out to be Rs 375.
