i cant help but disagree with u..on what basis are u saying that they are only selecting south indians..this seems like a case of "if u dont get the grapes then they are sour"...i am a south indian and i was not selected in the first list and if u check the list it has max number of north indians

Secondly u gave an example of a guy being selected when he did not do well in his GD..ur forgetting the other aspects, he may have done very well in the PI and may have excellent acads and may have scored very well in entrance exams (cat and cet were considered and that is why the results were delayed my friend)

Even if u check the waiting list there r hardly any south Indians
EVen if they do prefer south indians i dont understand whats wrong with it..SIES stands for SOUTh INDIAN education society doesnt it and every other college does it Dalmiya for marwadis somaya for gujjus and so on

read ur post abt IMT N and why some are skeptical in not joining. i cant agree with u more i mean who will want to pay bloody 10.5 lakhs to a college with an average package of 5.5 l. the placement scenario is really bad there. i had a chat with one of the students who passed out and she told me that if ur looking for placements and salary this is not the college (even she did not get a job)..

i know for some strange reason people here are supporting the idea of spending 12 L (including living expenses) and joining a college with an avg pack of 5.5.....at the end of the day u need the return on investment no matter what people say abt the "experience"
i had been selected in the first list itself in the PGDM full time course but i did not take it...took admission in SIES instead

the average salary is 5.25 not 4l as mentioned by some people and the highest was 9.5..considering the economic downturn this is pretty decent and the highest salary b4 that year was 12.5

i wrote 3 views cause the last 2 views r kind of similar so did not think of bifurcation. anyways more importantly i spoke to one of the students who passed out this year and she told me some of the following things:

1) the placement cell is horrible and apparently there is lot of politics going on in that college
2) college is not good for Finance, the prof for finance r not at all good...people apparently copy during exams in front of the prof
3) if ur solely looking for return on investment and a good package then this is not the college for u

Also @smisra u mentioned about friendly ambiance,facilities,helpful seniors...common man if u ask most of the students or aspirants they r really not bothered abt all this, its important yes but not as important as the package...the one thing they r most bothered is placements
and a good job...money always rules the roost.
and tax exemptions!!! u get tax exemptions on loads of things but u gotta look at the big picture as to how much u will end up paying with the interest and all..that seems like a raw deal

i have been selected for IMT Nagpur Pgdm course. although most probably i wont be taking admission. There r 2 reasons why i am not doing this:

1) THE 10.5 L fees. This is unbelievable, how can they charge such a huge amount. I mean agreed IMT is a brand name but nagpur??!!! seriously

2) The average package is only 5 L, so if ur taking an education loan (like me) it would atleast take u 3-4 years just to repay the loan...Return on Investment anybody???

3) also you will be relocating to nagpur to assume another 1.5 to 2 L expenses over and above the fees.
