Few words about my personal feel of Boston city.
its a very good city too live in, it's mostly white, with a bit of latino, black, asians and browns which is the story of any city in US. However, it's considerably white as compared to NYc and Chicago or LA. Almost all the financial companies have a presence in Boston, so that's nice too. The best part is it's not as big as NYC, so people do not actually feel lost, and not boring like any city on the west coast.....owing to so many universities in Boston, Cambridge area and thus the students, the city has that young look to it. The night life is pretty good too, again not as big as New York, just about right.

Lot of housing options too, and again not as expensive as NYC.

However being from NY, the city still takes the cake for being my best city in US, Boston's right next to it

However, I just think if Harvard can take some guys straight out of college...i am not discounting the fact that they are from a different league, I feel I have atleast 1 percent chance of getting into MFE.:)

I have seen the profiles of the current students and I do meet the requirements for the program...work ex comes in the recommended criterias.

I still wanna take a shot at it..bcoz my GPA, quant score etc. is quite good and am right now in New York, I graduate in December...would want to go to their program for the spring session.

I asked people their opinions bocz I know some people have really researched bschools that are not in Bihar.

No doubt Berkeley is a big name...but is it thr right choice for people going in to Investement Banking...coz it's on the west coast.

i've been a silent watcher on this forum for a while now. this is my first post, thought someone from new york should give you a perspective. Although my mba is still a good 3-4 yrs away, i've been doing research over it for some time now.

U can't Stern with ISB. ISB is still coming up.Stern may not be up in the rankings but it can match the best b school in terms of placement in finance.Being in downtown manhataan so close to wall street certainly helps. I know a lot of people here in America who go to Stern leaving better schools just beacuse of its location.

My advice to anyone who's going to Stern or Columbia, stay in Manhattan. Newport is a lovely place full of young professionals, but u can't compare it with Manahattan. Living in the city in NYU housing will give u so much more a chance of doing ur "networking", which is how things work here in US.U just might meet big shots from Wall Street in the pubs of the Village.If you are going to spend so much to study in one of the most expensive cities in the world, why not spend a little more.

Future investment bankers, there might not be a better place for you to study and stay.
