hey..its great that u are planning for MBA....its also imp to note that 3 sem is early to start your preparation...currently you shd focus on engg but can also start preparing for cat by reading newspaper like HINDU/TOI/HINDUSTAN TIMES/ET/FT...some good magazines..this sort of preparation will keep u informed about the latest happenings(which will help u in gd/pi and gk exams) and also in improving Eng..u can also start learning new words everyday...also dont completely focus on MBA prepartion ....u shd keep all ur option open(MBA/MS/MTECH/JOB etc) and decide later which one to go for!!!!!!

I gave cat-2010 and other exams like fms,snap,jmet but didnot receive any call as my score was low in all exams.(cat %ile-83, snap score-105, jmet score-75).
I have done B-Tech in Computer Science and Engg.(2007-2011) and have done internship from Infosys Technologies Ltd. and will be placed as System Engineer in the same company by july month. I am not satisfied with my degree and also don't like much, working as Computer Engg. I am looking forward to few years of good learning experience.I want to prepare for MBA again and give it a shot but everytime i think of doing MBA i have to rethink which MBA specialization and will it not turn out to be same not so good experience as being a Computer Engg.When I try to narrow down my interests and align them to some specialization i dont get any clear solution as to what should i opt for.So someone please help as to how should i choose which MBA and which B-School i should target for?The problem is I dont know exactly what course interests me the most and what can i follow to end and with passion?

I am interested in reading books and learning new English words and their usage,origin,etc.
I also like solving puzzles.In cat 2010,I thought i am good at DI and it will be most scoring section but i scored max in English section though i attempted least in it and it was toughest in paper.:shocked: As far as the prep goes for cat 2011 and also other papers i havent started preparing for it as i have returned from Infosys after completing my internship few days back.So i wanted to be clear on my thoughts before actually start preparing again.

for time being your focus should be on preparing for cat again.since u have given cat earlier, your main focus should be on working with the weaker areas..regarding ur interest on specialisation u can read some books on various specialisation like operation management, marketing, finance, hr , information systems..dis shd give u some idea regrading your interest and once done with interest den target colleges can be identified

in case of Ahmedabad:time has really good faculty...with good online test centres compared to CL and IMS..

for material:
time has excellent QA and DI material but CL provides good VA material

Puys can someone plz tell that which TIME is better in Mumbai in Central Line (Between Dadar to Thane). I will be joining TIME for CAT 2011 as a test series advanced student. If possible then plz tell ranking wise i.e. 1st in Central Line, 2nd in Central Line etc. I want an overall view about the institute (Faculty wise, peer group wise, best for GD PI etc).....Pls help.....

for a test series student i wont differ much....if u are planning to join classroom program than also i wont matter much becoz they hv good faculty at each centre and most of them are taking lecture at many centres.regarding gd pi, it will be at dadar centre for all students...so its upto u to which centre to go for.....just see ur convience rest all will be taken care by time

Well u ll have to select electives in second year..u can select them in operations,finance,marketing,HR and IS...once u are done with 1st year..u ll hv a clear idea about which one to choose from

Hello, i have been selected at campus recruitment at my college in january. however my 8th semester examination is going on, and i missed a paper cause of a severe road accident! i will have to reappear it again in supplimentary exams,held in october. i still have not got my joining date or offer letter? would i lose the offer because of the impending backlog. it would nt be shown in my marksheet once i clear the paper,because i was absent on medical grounds.

You have a valid reason for missing the paper...just send them a mail and they will surely look into the issue.It would be better if u send some supporting documents with the mail..
