First of all, I just want to clear that I never appreciated any such type of discussion on thread but as this has gone bit far, I need to intervene.
Ok,
If I tell you that I never got any discriminating comment on my face in my entire 24 yr of life time , will you believe?
If I tell you , when ever somebody started discussion about category thing in front of me, he/she ws always either low in acad or low in social status than me (atleast i believe so ) will you believe?
For first point, I hope you won't believe but it is true that all best in class people never take pain on commenting on others & my dear, Profs are among that class only. Exceptions can't change the story. If you are getting such comments either you are in company of cheap people or you are not doing anything both academically or socially to shut their mouths so i can't help in that.
For second point , Now a days B-school junta is so political that people fear abt ruined networks with people. No one can comment in front of you coz he never knw wat you can do or wat are you up (start adding that sense of mystery to your actions, study as hard as you can & brush up your skill every single day).Those people are below you,let say A ,will surly comment & try to show them above you through such discussion so why bloody care. Those are equal to you, let say B, they would either be you good friends or farse enemies & you better know how to treat enemies. Those who are above your status academically, let say C must be good/very good in their class people. They don't have much time to stop, think & comment about you ( I Bankers type people )...
Thruout my life, distribution of these three types are 60% , 30% & 10% & as per my experience it is same for most of top B-school guys... parameters i take for deciding bracket are academics, social status , past work ex. , my own x numbers of factors (number of girlfriends are also one of them
). if more people are above you either you are taking wrong parameters or you are complete failure in life ( pardon me for being harsh )
It my own belief if you think you are loser ..... Indeed you are & you deserve to be treated like this.
I personly think, I am not loser & no body ...i mean nobody can make me feel that I am loser (same is the case with all 21 SC students in FMS and I take pride in speaking all of them are in top class organizations now \m/ )
Studying hard can fetch you good grads but it can't change people's attitude & more importantly you own perception about yourself.
At the end of day , It is only you to whom you have to fight ....baki dunia tuh apne pairo talle hai dude ( all world is below our feet )
and yes , B-school politics is so fierce that even your SC brother/sister won't think a second to step on you & climb. Nobody bloody cares who you are at the end of the day , everybody wants good placement aur Kaise bhi
( I am not saying good people are not there but they are also MBAs & it is basic rule of corporate jungle )
If any of you ever feel low about anything like this crap do let me know,My burning PM are waiting to kick you coz dis is a bloody fight& no one wants a cry baby. Next two years of your B-school will be ultimate deciding step of your upcoming life so don't divert your mind on factors ,you can't control, better be ready with all your ammunition.
& please if possible stop this discussion here only coz there is no end of this debate & I tried my best to put all my "Guru Gyaan" (which I got from my guru) in this so lengthy post.
