When i say the insti doen't take any reponsibility, i mean to say that it's the reponsibility of the placement cell to get u placed. No other dept from the insti works in this direction. The placement cell comprises of students and few faculty members. It is supervised by the Corporate relations officer. All the students would have to work alongwith the cell to search for internship. You'll have to contact companies and inquire about prospects and scout for possibilities.
Even we didn't had any corporate connections... but dont u worry, we already have a huge database of previous recruiters + leads from current students + leads from alumni + leads from faculty.

So wot U need to do is to be clear about ur specialization and/or the kind of project u wish to go for, and then coordinate with the placement cell to target specific companies.

in short.. "yahan summers ke liye kaam karna padega.. baitha rehne se compromise ke alava kuch nahin milta yahan"

Thi year.. many of my clsssmate hav got good porjects... and also are working with some of the best companies like : HLL,ITC, Asian Paints, Bajaj, Maersk ... and the list continues dude..

so dont worry on summers part rite now..... leave it for later... ;)

One more thing i wud like to add..... Whatever maheep said is abt summer placements only. Scene of final placements is extremely gud here and again this process is managed by students.

well arnab.. it seems that gautam has answered most of ur queries..... but to clarify a bit....

80% of summers are thru' CV shortlisting.... and only few select companies carry out PI... but no GD's here....
This excludes ALL those who go for private placements.
and as for stipend... "beggars can't be choosers" ... most don't look at stipend as they need good projects and good companies to work with....
and as for the quality of projects.... with each batch the standard of students is also increasing... and hence good projects.....
We have a rolling process for summer placements.... so no guarantee as to when u'd get placed.... Also the institute takes no responsibility to get the students placed.... for them its just like an obligation....

my suggestion.... from the very first day start looking for summer projects.... :)

Well said maheep.... and let me add that your summers are in your hands here..... you will be placed soon n in better companies if you and your placecomm (Placement Committee) work hard. Placements are taken care by students and we feel proud to say that many companies apprecited this fact.

Well summer placements start right after final placements...Process depends upon the recruiter (as company wants to conduct). Most of our students get stipends.

can u give me an idea, how much time more will it take ??
i ve been calling nirma authorities but not getting any conclusive answers...

At waitlist 77 you already have one foot in IMNU campus.... about the call..... actually this waitlist is more or less like railway waiting where everything gets cleared on last day.... Most of our batchmates got final confirmation in last 15 days... some even got after 19th june.....(First day of our joining) so keep ur fingers crossed u have a good chance.....

First of all no sir business.... (at least wid me)

Overall avg sal was 6.7 and in our senior batch thr were not many exp. ppl..... so my guess is around 6. IBM offerred 7.9 for freshers while infy 7. IOC took freshers with same salary offer... In all Freshers are getting gud profiles n packages both...

hi seniors,
i have some queries.
will nirma provide us with blazers?
also,heard that pepl in iim-a use coolers in hostels to beat the scary ahmedabad heat.is it the same in nirma too?how long is the library open?

Hello thr,

1. Nirma doesn't provide you blazers and even they are not necessary on mondays. Here formal means shirt trousers and a tie. Though most of us have our own blazers.

2. Nirma doesn't provide coolers and also we are not allowed to have them in hostel. But that wont be a problem as you will be taken care by nature itself (lots of plantation).

3. Library remains open form 9AM to 9:30 PM.... Moreover you can access online databases 24 hours (more useful than library). We also have a new jhakkas reading room remains open till midnight (will be airconditioned in sometime).
