exactly !! was thinking of the same thing !!!
the admission letter gave us the schedule of 3rd, 4th & 5th... and i had happily assumed that classes will start frm 7th i.e monday !!! but it is not so i guess.....
looks like its jus the beginning mates !!

My take - it's based on based on the following premises

Premise 1 -> Any OBC seat will be additional and not disturb the general category. (HRD Min. directive)

Premise 2 -> The general category list has already been announced. supported by the statement in bold above - with the those candidates offered admission in the General category

So, those of us in general category, need not worry about losing the seats, considering the legal implications as well ( folks who have already put in their papers at work/ or have foregone admission to another college based on the confirmed list). Any creamy OBC candidate meeting the Performance indicator will be an additional candidate, and will not displace an existing "confirmed" general category.

But this is again speculative....

In the case mentioned above, there will be legal implications even if Creamy layer OBC are denied admission on account of not meeting the 'performance criteria'....

And I do not think anybody who has got a final admit shud be denied admission at such late stages... This could be disasterous for some !

The most practical solution according to me seems to be to increase the number of seats by the number of creamy OBC present in the selected candidates list.. tat is if among the selected ppl, 5 belong to creamy OBC, the batch strength cud be increased to 65... and the W/Led non-creamy OBC cud fill up the vaccum....

I havnt been following the thread regularly, but just read the discussions in the last few pages
I definitely doubt the credibility of this Mr. X who has sent a PM to charanya Cant really understand the motive of this informed person If his statements are false, hes doin no gud to us.. Even if theyre true (even to the least extent), this guy seems to be indirectly tellin us Hey, dont you dare join this institute Maybe its not an IIM itself !!! Both cases, were the losers ! I really dont understand wats his real motive.
By the way, as someone else mentioned, lets not worry too much abt the faculty of IIMS. The past profile n experience of the faculty members (whether theyre Ex-IIMA profs or anybody else) is a thing for the IIM-S authorities to worry about; not for us.
And yea, I called up IIM-S and it seems we are due to pay our 1st intallment of Rs.70,000 by 31st May

Have the GD/PI for RGIIMS started? I see someone's GD/PI date as 30th March in PG Connect.
If yes then kindly share your invaluable experience here on this thread.
Also I would like to make a humble request to puys who travelled or are going to travel all the way to Shillong to elucidate on the following question

1) How is the campus of the new IIM? It looks fine in the pic that has peen posted on the website but is there something more to it?

2) Are they providing internet connections in the hostel rooms (The most important question). Going by the location, it looks difficult to get a leased line all the way from guwahati for IIMS.

3) Condition of the classes and seminar halls.

Please dont waste your trip and try to find out as much as possible. It's always good to be informed b4 taking an important decision.

IIM shillong call! no mail, but a hard copy letter. I filled in the interview place as shillong, just so that i can have a look around now is there anybody who has shillong as their choice?? only indian airlines offers a flight from kolkata to shillong, am worried about accomodation there.

And I am in a similar situation... Never xpected a call with 94.23 OA and chose the centr as shillong, jus for the sake of it !!! ;-)

My GD/PI btw is scheduled for 12th April 2 pm. nyone else who will be goin to shillong???
