From what I've gathered from my classmate , last year 60 final calls were given and 25 were waitlisted. But it might not be appropriate to compare with last year since the number of gd/pi calls given this year is 600 in comparison to last year's 150.

Congratulations to all who are shortlisted for the GD/PI process.
We are extremely sorry for not responding....here we are busy with the summer placements !!
Answering some general queries in various posts..
1. No. of seats in PGDM-60 and in addition PGDM-FE has 30 seats and PDGM-D&SF; has 30 seats each.
2. You can get your GD/PI dates rescheduled by calling the admission office.
3. GD/PI process is general...topics can range from abstract like "Red" to some topic related to current affairs like "Subprime crises and its impact on India".
There can be a surprise element to this process like in addition to GD/PI u can have an essay writing or roles plays or extempore..so be ready to handle surprises...

Am afraid there is no way till date to check your application status ONLINE..you may have got an acknowlegment from IFMR saying that they have received your form...and the best way to ensure that your application is received is to call the admission office.

What about the centre code issue? Even i have forgotten my centre code. Is that OK?

Centre code is required...check with some one you know who took test from the same centre...and in worst case you can send the form without centre code (ask admission office if thats ok)

Well honestly speaking your chances are bleak..but as they are going to increase the intake from this year onwards and taking in account your 2 years of workex, you can cross your fingers and apply. Hope for the best.

Is there an option to fill the form online ?
I have 97.100 %ile in XAT and 97.70 %ile in CAT

your %iles in both the tests are quite impressive. But there is no option so far to fill the form online. Just get a copy of IFMR application form from your nearest TIME/IMS centre and send the form

Hi,

you need to attach a photocopy of XAT score card if you are applying through XAT. Call admission office and then send the copy.

Hi seniors,

In the application form they have asked for the address of two persons in responsible positions. During admission process, will they talk with the persons i am refering? My designation Asst System Analyst. Can i write a person with designation System Analyst(she is having 3 yrs experience) as the one who recommends me or we should refer the ppl with much more experience?

I am applying with a v less percentile of 83.15. So please tell me how can i improve my chance with the details i am going to fill up in the form.

Its always better to refer to people who are your boss or high up in hierarchy of the organization. As you have mentioned in your question itself its the experience and the position a person holds that matters.

But there is no harm in refering to a System Analyst (unless and until he/she is still there in the company when ur interview is happening).

Generally they dont contact the persons that you have refered. But once in a blue moon they may go for such cross checks.

Can I apply with both my CAT and XAT Scores ?
Does IFMR consider Sectional cutoffs ?

12th - 92.33 % .
B.E - 65.9 % (Pune University) .
Work Ex - 17 Months with Infy so far .
You said that the Marketing Stream is pretty strong at IFMR in terms of both faculty and plcaement , but is Finance the Flagship course at IFMR ? Do the majority of the students go for Finance ?
Also can you tell me the fees for the entire program ?
I assume the program is residential , can you tell me about the hostel and infrastructure as well ?

You can apply thru both the scores.
MBA in Finance is not the flagship programme. But new programmes like PGDM-FE and PGDM-D&SF; are specifically designed to produce certain talent in the financial sector. And majority of the people do take finance as specialization in the normal PGDM prgramme
Fees is approx 4.6 lac.
Outstation students are provided accomodation in the hostel on request and charged for the same. The campus is wifi enabled, has computer lab, library, mess. The rooms have attached bathroom with water heater (USP of IFMR hostel rooms), LAN connection, study table, chair, book shelf, night lamp, mirror and bed. hi. i have a query regarding the admission eligibilty in IFMR. it says that we have to have 60% in our graduation in order to be eligible to apply. my query is, do they mean 60% in hons. papers or 60% in aggregate of hons and pass papers? i am a student of economics hons. i have 62% if i take aggregate of my hons. and pass papers, but less than 60%if i only take my hons. papers.
pleez pleez someone clarify. thanks a lot in advance

got 2 yrs of work ex..
what are my chances ..
and where the intervier is to be held..

your chances of getting a call are very bright. Prepare well and do well in GD/PI.
Interview is held at IFMR campus in chennai.

but rest acad are 80+%(in 10th, BTech n MTech)
whether IFMR is strict abt this 2nd division thing or there is some flexibility...
as it is mentioned in the prospectus that there should be 1st dision throughout career...
so i m in limbo whether to apply or not...
plz gimme some suggestions

IFMR provides Marketing, IT& operations and HR specializations apart from Finance. This year the cut off is expected to be 85%ile (same as last years). Hence you can apply for the course.

so are they considering anything like minimum percentile in each section or what

Here they give more importance to overlall percentile. Hence your percentile in Verbal section should not be hindrance to your getting a call from IFMR. Your plus points like engg from NIT and workex of 1 year in Infy will act on your side. So hope for the best and apply.

The GD/PI is conducted only at chennai so far.
