can you pls let us know what is the profile of the students like educational backgrnd and work experiance... i tried to get the info from the web but not getting the link.. and reg. the placement what are the profiles like... for eg.. area manager,senior consultant et al..

i ve 40 months of work ex with 90 % in xat.. good acads..

Most of the students are either with engr. or commerce background as is the case almost everywhere..

Profile depends on the past experience of the student..a fresher will never be offered the post of a sr. consultant..There are several students in my batch with work exp who are offered a better profile than freshers..

@vibhuti - the official report is in the process..apart from that go thru this thread to get the placement scene this yr.

@cracko - Due importance is given to XAT scores at both the stages..how much? dunno exactly but at first stage it has a very high weightage..

does LIBA have any sectional cut-off and if yes! Whats the sectional cut-off and also tell me this year what's the overall cut-off??

Well dunno how many more times we shud make this clear...

LIBA calls top 500(approx) applicants,,
It does not have pre determeined cur offs..

Sectional cut offs are never revealed..but last yr initially it was 60%tile which was later relaxed to 50%tile for ppl with XAT > 95%tile.

Getting back to pagalguy.com after a long long time.

Let me clarify a few things...

Very aptly said by einstein the cut off depends mainly on the number of applicants and the quality of the applicants..

Usually around 500 ppl are called for Gd/PI...i.e the best 500
So the cut off depends on who all apply to LIBA.

The report is of wat happened last yr & the cut off for general category indeed was 91%tile...a huge jump from the yr. previous to it where it was around 85.

This yr i see it going even further...not trying to scare few guys here..but then the demand for good MBA colleges is increasin and hence LIBA getting better applicants each yr.

And as said earlier ppl with 80%tile + shud definately apply to LIBA..u never know u can be the lucky one..

90+ shud be hopeful for the call.

Sectionals are also very important...last time i remember someone with 98%tile dint get a call in the first round because he/she had low percentile in quant (below 50)...there is no cut off mentioned for the sectional though..so no one here has idea about sectionals..but according to me 60+ sectional shud get u thru considering the over all cut off 90+.

Well, i'm planning to do MBA finance and my core area of intrest is i-Banking(Investment Banking) and since i've come to know that LIBA offer's a course in both Finance and IB and just wanted to know which were the top companies that have recuited last year in i-banking? And what the Avg and Highest Salary recorded untill today only in the Banking Sphere!

Perhaps if anybody in here who's done Finance and IB could enliten me with some extra gyaan i'd be obliged. Since Citi-groups happend to be listed among the the :popcorn:TOP 10 i-banking Companies in the world. I'd like to know....during last year recruitment records which banking company which deals in i-bank have recruited students and whats the best pay they've been offered ??

Since i being marketing student have little idea abt the profiles the banks offered.
Last yr & this yr both the banks that visited LIBA were/are - Citigroup (citibank+citifinancial) - ICICI Bank - HDFC Bank - Kotak Bank.

My seniors currently working at citibank are getting close to 8L/annum
