Is internet connection available in the hostels?
Does one have to pay for it , over and above the fees?
Do we need to bring our own modems(to conect them to laptops)?

Internet is avaliable in all 3 hostels IDPL and Kshitij have wireless connectivity while CM requires LAN cables which will be provided to u once ur here. No need to carry anything and the charges are already included in fees nothing over it.

Do we have classes on saturday?? and what are the normal timings for classes on a day? Plz shed some insights abt these things of MDI :)

There is no hard & fast rule as such different sections have different time tables we in HR havent had a single saturday during our first year. In addition you may have extra lectures, seminars etc etc

Timings depend on no of lectures u have in that particular day between 8:30 - 5:30 though exceptions may be there.

and may i know the work profiles offered for placed students of MDI-HR?

Placements f0r HR have been at par with PGPM if not better profiles offered included corporate HR, IR and consulting which is pretty much the same for all premier institutes

No it wont be a problem salary slips will suffice for all ur college and placement related activities during these two years

Please enlighten how many have deposited the fee in PGPM till today and how many seats left. When the 2nd list is to be announced.

Hey dude how do you expect him to know how how many people have submitted fees or when is next list expected to come out he is slogging at his internship from 9 to 9 and cant possible be in touch in GP office which even if he was i doubt admin will share the info with him please avoid posting such queries.

As a rule, all girls will be placed in the Campus hostel only.

The building is the same for boys n girls but there is a seperate wing for girls with the wing door just next to the wardens office n ya boys not allowed in that wing after 11pm.

Around 120 boys were there in IDPL last year. All first years.

I spoke to the hostel incharge (Mr Kundu) when i went on campus n he told me that since last year they had started alloting hostel rooms on first come first serve (before that it was on merit). The logic which he gave for this was that the ones who come to MDI first should get preference and not someone who tries all IIMs n other clgs first then comes to MDI as a last resort.

I find his reasonong perfectly reasonable and i hope this is the case as i was Serial no 10 to give the fees!! ;-)

Hey man dont read too much in to what kundu says. kundu HAS NO SAY in on what criteria the rooms are allotted. With your percentile and receipt no ur safe both ways so enjoy.

Somehow i also find reasoning given by him flawed not necessarily everyone depositing fee late may be waiting for IIM heck he may not even have a call they might take some time to arrange funds or any other reason. Chill guys most of people who have converted in first list are sure to get acco on campus.

Outta batch of 330 odd 110-120 guys were in IDPL rest including girls on campus

How can they decide on merit? I mean how can they compare between a person ranked 25 in PGPM and smone ranked 24 in PGP-HR and smone ranked 25 in PGP-IM? What is the priority?

All the rooms available in campus are split in the ratio of batch sizes of PGPM, HR and IM and then allotted. For eg considering only PGPM and HR batch size is 240 and 60 respectively ie ratio of 4:1 so if 100 rooms are available then 80 are reserved for pgpm and 20 for hr

Is the relieving certificate necessary...coz il hav to shell out lot of money for tat...i thot experience letter wud do....

experience letter will be sufficient even the salary slips will do
