Waitlist -94 . What are the chances of converting? How many of the converted guys didn't turn out?? When could we expect next waitlist updation ? Please help seniorss....

Ok i agree that TAPMI gives a chance to everyone to sit in the process, and you are telling that its a good move????
What is so good in that????????????
Nobody want to feel good by just sitting in the selection process of TAPMI.
It will be good move if they select the candidate based on the overall performance (which include GD/PI and work exp. also) and not only on CAT score. And if they want to select the candidate by only considering the CAT score then what is the point in calling everybody for GD/PI????????
I have not seen anybody here with low percentile who got selected but i have seen many who had excellent GD/PI and with work exp. but are not featuring in waiting list also. only because they had a low percentile.
If the process is so much transparent then why dont they declare how much weightage is for CAT score and how much for GD/PI.
Seniors have claimed that a person with 42%ile also have a chance but i have not seen anybody selected with 80%ile or below.
Talking about the process,
They have given early call to exceptional candidate so that they deposit the fees here before any other institute declare their results.
They have not given any WL no. to other candidate for so long and kept them in dark.
Now they have given the WL no. but are not rejecting other candidates because they are afraid and dont know how much waiting list will move this year .

yaar seriously..there are a lot of guys out there competing..people with percentiles from 50-100..tapm does give chance to everyone as stated earlier..but then..dont u think performances are relative..suppose 2 ppl with exact same marks in all respects except for cat/xat who do u think will be selected..and CAT/XAT has a lions share in the overall admission process in almost every b school in india..ppl with lower percentiles may have done well for GD/PI but then again ure performance is relative..

and FYI a person with 78 in xat has converted this year i believe..and yes it would be ideal if tapmi would give lesser weigtage to CAT..but then its their selection prcedure..followed by every other b school..infact IIMs too..they look into past acad scores as well..so please dont bash b schools for the selection procedure they follow..and moreover..even though u were given a call..if u were followiing pagalguy..it was stated by seniors that CAT contributes to about 60% percent of the total admission procedure..so we were not put in the dark about the importance of cat/xat marks..so chill guys..no offence..

Plain & simple, give us waitlist numbers or jus say u r rejected.

see..about 100 students were given exceptional calls..and the rest of them were waitlisted..so that means abour 200 seats left to fill..on 16th april mails were sent to candidates to fill up those 200 seats..now THAT apparently is the first waitlist..and the 2nd waitlist is the actual WAITLIST..where the numbers would decrease as the selected candidates(within those 300 seats)withdraw their admissions..hope this helps..:)..ATB

Just becuase u r a part of TAPMI u cannot shy away from the Mishandling that has been done in preparing the merit list.
And as u said, similar conditions prevailed last year also then Adcom and u ppl should have ensured to make things better this year.
U cannot say that same hing hapened to us last yr n bla bla bla....

In fact you people also realize from deep within that this is not okay.
But you don want to accept this .

I mean why doesnot TAPMI follow a transparent process like IIMs, XIM, XLRI, IITS. WHats the problem in it? Does TAPMI considers itself above than these b schools.
Are u people ready to believe that u r better than any student from these colleges.

I respect TAPMI and for that reason i applied for it. But the way things are proceeding since first day of GDPI it is now putting a question mark over its credibility.

bhaii..seniors who are responding to our queries are not in control of when the waitlist and the final results are published..lets not blame them and their credibility..:)..ATB to u bro..

thanks..::grin:Is cat score and GD/PI score the only criteria or past academic records and work ex details are considered as well..?as per the previous posts..60% and 40% weightage is alloted to CAT score and GD/PI respectively..

work ex definitely is given due consideration..and past academic scores..well.. going by the ppl who have converted this far..anyone with a bare minimum graduation mark required to sit for the GD/PI can convert..:)

Hi seniors..for the final coversion..is the CAT score given the maximum weightage..?? Most of the people who have converted till now have scored more than 90..My score is 83 in CAT with decent GD/PI..Can i expect a final call as per last year trend..? I mean..do u have ppl with percentile of my range in ur batch?
