Is it necessary to bring the Hard-Copy of call letter received by post ?

Can't I take the printout of mail that I have received ?

I am making this point because, the address that I mentioned in the application form has changed & I think it might be difficult to search for that in Post-offices

but chances look very bleak for a fresher like me considering the astronomical cutoffs..... and work ex weightage of 25% ... dunno whether attending it wud bear fruits by any chance...
can anyone tell how is the waitlist movement trend in ime kanpur...

Your acads are great and can compensate for your work ex score. WL movement is not going to help you unless you attend the interview, however nothing can be said regarding the w/l movement at this stage in case you are still curious.

Puys i have converted SCMHRD... I also have a call from IIT kanpur. My cat percentile is 95. But im in a dilemma as to shud i attend the GD PI for IIt...can anybody suggest???

Hey, its nice that you are under this pleasant dilemma. I just want to convey that 2-3 students in our class have earlier withdrawn fee from SCHMRD after converting a call at IITK. ATB

Cut off is 93 for general category students; 85 for OBC and 75 for other categories with no sectional cutoffs.

and for people like me getting 92.50 with 30 months work ex and not getting call just bcz i missed the percentile cut off by 0.5 feels terrible..........:-)

I agree but for every set cutoff there will be candidates who will miss by 0.01 percentile .. so it always go this way.

exactly dude.....i am also stuck with 93.39.....looks impossible to convert.....will not go even i am shortlisted......:(:(

I respect your opinion but attending interview is your personal choice but i feel you should accept the challenge, at least it will provide you some experience.

at our percentiles we have got calls from IMT-G IMI etc colleges rated much better den IIT Kanpur albeit the fees is high
lets focus on those

Please avoid such comparisons cause they are fruitless and not permitted here.

By not attending the GD PI, u are denying yourself any chances of getting the call..atleast by attending, u can hope for a call..Also there will be huge waitlist movement..Prepare well for GD PI and rest leave it to GOD..

Yes, it is so. No idea about sectional cutoffs.

Till last year there was no sectional cutoff, will it be considered this year?and if so how much?

Also few days back you seniors had mentioned that there will be no sectional cutoffs...

Probably no sectionals.. but no concrete info regarding that.

Though its still unofficial there are chances that cutoff will be exact 93 for the general category i.e 92.95 may not get a call and even 93.01 will fetch you a call. No info on sectional cutoffs though.

Yes. Going by the information that is floating around the chances are good but let me remind you all these are predictions.

Tough to predict before the actual list comes out but I would advice you to not to loose hope as your percentiles are close to 93 and there might be some deviations.
