Puys, am in a serious fix, please help.

Completed B.Tech this year from NIT, Bhopal. CAT2011 was my first CAT and I scored 97.21 %ile. :

Got calls from IIMK, new IIMs (except Rohtak), MDI and XIMB. Have been rejected by IIMK and by new IIMs in their first list. Also waitlisted (=rejected) by MDI.:::banghead: Have converted XIMB though. I also have a job offer from a leading company in the ITes sector.

Now I want to give CAT another shot because I'm pretty confident about my abilities and have pretty good acads. But I have been listening to the fact of how CAT is a gamble and how it is very unpredictable now, over and over again. This has made me quite apprehensive and doubtful whether I'll be able to crack CAT again.

So should I join XIMB this year (which is a great bschool but not quite there at the top), or should I take up the job and retake CAT? I'm worried that insufficient time for preparation during the job and/or the normalization thingy in CAT might jeopardize my chances

Profile: B.Tech, NIT Bhopal- 8.3/10; X-95.6, XII-88.4 (both CBSE); decent extracurriculars in college (member of Editorial Board, office bearer in 3 departmental student societies, organized events in national level techfest etc.)

i am writing something which can help somebody else...
i did my btech , may 2011 in petroleum engg.
got offers from IT sector companies ...
i was interested in core sector companies.....
didnt joined IT company and tried 15 core sector companies.... but couldnt get the job ....................................................biggest failure of my life

i am good in maths and without any coaching and preparations i gave CAT 2011 and scored 82.53 percentile

as my engg is in petroleum i was totally interested in school of petroleum management,(SPM) PDPU,Gandhinagar....
i filled 5 forms.IFMR, NIRMA, KJ SOMAIYA IB, GREAT LAKES IEMR,GURGAON. AND SPM Gandhinagar ....

i prepared for gd and pi with the help of my friend called ANGEL

i did my best and converted IFMR, NIRMA ,GREAT LAKES IEMR waitlisted in KJ SOM-IB
but very very badly ,,disappointed from myself that i couldnt convert SPM GANDHINAGAR

life takes us .... where life wants ....
not got my dream college....so not happy ....

i will be joining some college .... want my carrer to be on track .....
but still deep in heart ... i am worried and hoping the history doesnt repeat....
