Well when I talked to Mr Thakur, he said that the whole thing will cost not more than 11 lakhs... i was shocked...

After a couple of days, My father talked to him again, and he explained the fee structure.. the tuiton fee for this year is 2.75 lacs (.25 more than last year) and hostel fee is 75,000 rupees. So total for a year is 3.5 lacs... For 2 years , its 7 lacs... and apart from that other expenses, (laptop, books etc) around 2 lacs...

So total it will cost around 9 lacs (7 lac fee plus 2 lac sundries)

There is also an optional global immersion program fee of around 1.5 to 2 lacs..

So now I am not so shocked about the figure 11 lacs.. it includes EVERYTHING...

Hope that helped.. but this info is purely hearsay.. though i'm sure i'm not mistaken, i hope there isnt anything more to add to that figure....

It is reasonable to be curious about these things at this point of time. Let me try and address your issues.
First, the exact fee structure will be sent to you along with the final offer letter. The details of bank loans available and the procedures to obtain them will also be sent. You will get sufficient time to arrange for everything.

Second, the hostel is on a twin sharing basis for the 1st year people. You're given a bed, a cupboard, a study table and a mattress. Rest everything you'll have to bring. Again, all these details will be sent to you with the offer letter. For your shopping part, just remember it'll be really hot initially and then it'll rain cats and dogs. A survival kit for MICA will come to you soon. It will list all the things you need to bring along. So just wait for it. Any specific queries, please shoot.

Also, it' be more convenient if you can take your queries to the Orkut/ Facebook links given above.

Oh wow that helps a lot guneet.. thanks... also, I talked to Mr Luv Thakur.. He gave a bit of insight as to this year's fee... as you suggested , for specific queries i will go to orkut or facebook...

Cant wait to get to MICA... 2 months seems so long... cudnt wait... looking for any excuse to go off shopping... lol....

Hey ppl? isnt it a bit weird that we still dont know the exact fee structure and details of joining and hostel facilities etc etc ??? I mean there wasnt a prospectus.. People who know Any information that will help us start preparing for Bank procedures and more importantly shopping.... please do post here...

i'm a newbie puy so apologies for posting quite late. i'm Abhishek Tyagi and i got a spot offer on the first day- witnesses to this include leo.gayathri, manini and mithila12. so in public interest, i post my experience which shud help potential MICANs:

reached at MICA campus with most other aspirants; 70 in total; with high ambitions. but frankly, the confidence of fellow aspirants almost unnerved me. met leo.gayathri at time of registeration and throughout the day; had a whale of a time with her. (now a fellow MICAn)

so after the written exercise on jitubhai farmer; i was put into a group of 9 which was asked to prepare a model of a living room with differnt communications gadgets and optimizing the space available. and kudos to my highly able and creative group, we made a brilliant model. personally, i made a music system, security system and amoeba carpet (looked brilliant)

then came back and had another wrtten exercise on fitness as in rating one's own fitness. then, came the announcement that we had been allotted to different interview panels- mine being panel 4.

my interview : ME, LADY IN RED (LR), SENIOR PROF (SP) YOUNG PROF (YP)

LR: did u have ur lunch
ME: no mam, since my turn came so just wanted to finish my interview and then have lunch
SP: what do u mean by communications ?
ME: communications means to tell ur feelings, views to people
SP: i'm silent so do i communicate something?
ME: YES SIR, this is non-verbal form of communication
LR: u have mentioned international politics as one of ur likes. cud u plz elaborate more on this?
ME: technical stuff on international politics, recession,
SP: what do u mean by climate change?
ME: TECHNICAL stuff on climate change
SP: have u watched al-gore's docu: an inconvinient truth?
ME: NO SIR, i havnt
LR: so, u dont watch much movies, eh?
ME: no mam, not much
LR: what was the last movie u saw?
ME: ishqiya
LR: tell something about what did u like in ishqiya?
ME: explaining characterization of vidya balan, arshad warsi, naseeruddin shah, the darkness, edginess of the film
LR: so, the kind of movies made by anurag kashyap and vishaL bharadwaj; what do u think generally abt that
ME: new-age cinema, tackling grey matter between gud and bad, different from conventional cinema
LR: u hv mentioned lies as one of ur dislikes, but advertising deals with lies, so how wud u tackle this dilemma?
ME: I remember abt a movie thank you for smoking where the protagonist, a spokesperson for tobacco company, didnt smoke himself but used to tell other people to smoke coz it was his wrk. If my wrk requires to tell lies, Ill tell only till the limit it doesnt hurt my conscience.
SP: if we have to make rural people aware abt climate change, how will u do that?
ME: talking abt a farmers tractor emitting a lot of smoke harmful to his breathing and crops; try to reduce smoke

This is what I inferred from my interview:

Be sure of what u say
Be spontaneous
Be aware of what u say and what they ask


After some hours, came the result: I had managed a spot offer.

I was on top of the world. Moreover, leo.gayathri too managed a spot offer and so was mithila12. So I was even more happy.

Hey uncanny! (and also everyone else with the same query)

I was in MICA on the 6th. Spoke to Deval Ma'am.So, this year , the number of seats for the PGDM-C course have been raised from 120 to 150

So alls cool I guess..atleast a tad better than earlier!

I've finally managed to figure out how to post here =D

Good luck to those who have their GE / PI sessions remaining.

My GE / PI was on day one and was a wonderful experience. It's already been put up (the first post on this forum) cos back then I didn't know how to post stuff!

To cut a long story short, I got a spot offer. It was the awesomest, happiest moment. MICA dream coming true! =D

wow mithila... nice to see you here... we had so much fun.. you just freaked out wen you heard your name.. deval mam and another mam were asking people whether you dint make it... lol... looking forward to being there together....
