I have few quarries regarding admission in MPSM (Logistics & Transportation Management).

1. What is the exact selection criteria ? Not the 50% in grads but the detailed information if anyone can provide. Like only the MAT score is accepted or CAT & MAT score both or if one can be through with any of the either, Weightage given to GD/PI, MAT/CAT scores, Work ex, Academics.
2. Do the GD for all the program's held together ? pool type i mean, where performance is judged amongst the ALL, and later called for PI.
3. Cutoffs both overall & sectional (if any).


4. IISWBM is under Calcutta University. Why the selection criteria is different from that of MBA (commerce department) which is also under same university, or is the criteria same ? MBA in CU (Comm. Dept.): 100% weightage is given on academic excellence & rest is divided among CAT score(50%), GD(20%), PI(20%) & 10% work-ex.


Posts relating to GD/PI experiences (for L & T management), or anything related is appreciated. Thank you.

1. Either of the score i.e. CAT/MAT will suffice. There is no fixed weightage as such. But one needs good academic background & good performance in GD/PI to sail through. If you have work-ex its an added advantage!

2. Yes, all GDs are held together & PI also takes place the same day.

3. Above 40 in all sections & overall 70+ will fetch you a call.

4. IISWBM is completely different from University MBA. So the criterias also differ.

Hi every one! I'm doing Masters in Human Resource Management from IISWBM,Kolkata.
I'm currently interning at Tata Steel Processing and Distribution LimitedThe project is to conduct surveys on Employee Engagement, Employee Satisfaction, Leadership Effectiveness & Cultural Assessment of around 1500 employees across 6 locations & analyse the findings & give recommendations. I'm through with preparing the questionnaire, conducting the surveys, compiling the data & finding the average across locations. Now the final task is to make a report & analyse the data, which I'm really confused about.
I want suggestions on what kind of analysis etc, I can do to make the report impressive?

Well you must wear formals during the first few days. Then you can wear your jeans later. But during seminars, conferences etc we have to follow the dress code.
Study material you have to arrange on your own. The faculty helps with the names of the books & authors. We have one of the biggest libraries in the city, which you can access for the books. Also we are located at College Street, the hub of books. so its no problem.

Hi Kindly refer to the previous posts where I have mentioned about MPSM. That is the best info you can get. In the mean while I will try & collect more info about this course. We are really busy with our summer internship at this point.

Nilashish if you could take charge of MPSM & help the aspirants by gaining info from our colleagues, would be highly beneficial, as I dont have much idea about this course.

I have a request to all aspirants. Please use proper articulated language while asking your queries. It gets very difficult to understand terms like diff, lng etc. Please use proper English. You are going to be MBA students soon. It is disappointing.

as iiswbm..........is under calcutta university.so cn ne 1 get c.u hostels.as i hv my frnds doin maters from c.u n staying in c.u hostel in rajabazar,salt lake area at a decent rents...................
so ne ideas on it....................

IISWBM has only one hostel i.e.
NITTTR, Block FC, Sector III, Salt Lake City (near Laboni Housing Estates), Kolkata 700 106.
It is not associated with any other hostels under C.U. No you cannot get access to these C.U. hostels if you are a student of IISWBM
