Why IISWBM is placed so low acc to pg ranking?

iiswbm is palced low in pg rankings bcz the respondents r low for iiswbm and they rank on the basis of sample size they get frm the aspirants...

pg ranks just on the perception of the aspirants and not on the facts..

for authentic ranking any orgnsation must conduct a primary research, like getting data in person from the bschools- which pg has not done.
they depend too much on secondary sources which r at any time not authentic

Well marks does matter , and there r companies who keep this criteria of 60% especially the PSUs....but its nt possible for everyone to have 60% throughout .So there were people in our senior batch and in also r batch who dont have 60% in their grads(especially from CU)...I dnt see it as a problem because at the end of the day there would be some company or the other who will nt have such criteria and they have got placed but again nobody knows the future (what sort of new criteria the companies may come up with. For eg. Kotak mahindra came for our summers and they wanted 70% throughout),so it would be entirely ur decision....

as shahid said, yeah there are companies which ask fot 60 % through out.
but majority of the companies looks finally at ur caliber to learn and perform- n this is the same thing the recruiters check at the interview...

my personal view- its high time that recruiters ave to look beyond the academic scores since ours, in India is majorly an examination system and not an education system. some of the companies appreciate it but few don't.. and we cant do anything about it...

if u guys r asking me the 2009-11 scenario , a handful few companies considered this as a critiria. but that didnt dampen the 2009-11 batch spirit.Guys with less than 60 % have converted top companies be in finance,marketing or hr + they have got ample opportunities to showcase their talent.

But let me assure one thing.. T&L; in MPSM is of top demand and companies come in search of the students from different regions of the country as well as from abroad..this field is expanding very fast and our institute is the pioneer in offering courses in T&L;.

cutoff for obc is same as that for general

i want the know cut offs in absolute score for IISWBM last year ??

cutoffs for mba was in the range of 80-82%ile

and for mhrm 65-75%ile

its just a rumor...

IISWBM is affiliated to Univ of Calcutta. in fact IISWBM is an integral part now due to the absence of Presidency College from the elite list of educational institutes under CU.

yeah, sports and leisure facilities are there in the college hostel. Carroms, TT,Badminton
