Yeah... and imo they have every right to do so...!! you don't pay millions of dollars just to see your main playmaker getting injured on a friendly international...!! as in the case of Van Persie getting injured, which single handedly destroyed the Gunners season...!!

Talking of club vs country... I initially had the opinion that country should come first. But as Wenger said... doesn't the player get payed by the club? And chosing between club and country is perhaps like chosing between family and worklplace. And yeah, performing well for country also puts you in the radar of bigger clubs besides becoming a national icon (and more ca$h)

As far as the player's performance is concerned, he should as a professional, put in his best whether he plays for country or club... But only thing with the club and country thing is the strain on the player.

An update for the 1st WL people. Found the Draft Confirmation receipt in my mailbox last night @ Chennai.

Yes, sure... I'm guessing an African nation might just go a little further this WC. Not bcoz of the "home" support, but their strength has been growing over the years... atleast of individual African players. And doubting Asia's chances this time

The transfers have barely started and I am still waiting for that big transfer this year in Madrid(not money wise but by reputation)

I think once the teams are finished with all transfers we will how each team looks like for the next season.

We already have Canales, I hope he shines bright! And still would like to see stability on the coaching front... and Silva would be useful. Else, the current team is good to go!

Then the Table detailing fees, then two more lines/paras, and then another different para: "In case of non-grant of confirmed seat in the Programme for any reason, the entire fee will be refunded. In case of grant of confirmation of seat, the rules and regulations governing admis... (same stuff in the original letter) enclosed for your reference."

WC Update -

Spain declares its 23 men squad. notable omissions - Senna, Dani guiza and Santi cazorla. Pedro gets a finall call. He has been in fine form off the late. High hopes on him because of his high work rate.

Senna has always been impressive in previous international competitions so a little disappointed he'll be missing out... but Xabi and Busquets are good, and also there's Javi Martinez who's also a defensive mid.
