hey thought i'd mention somet that came to my attention here about this forum. The line next to the forum title says among other things, "Small talk about anything you wish. It's time to lay back and relax, you don't have to make sense."

i feel some of the talk u can have here in a forum like this and with topics like these is by no means small talk. and some of it makes the best sense u'd probably seen being made in a while.

I got 2 jeeves omnibus' on me dont ask me how and if they belong to me but i just got them and even the short stories are an absolute riot. Jeeves and the wooster boy will just fill up your day once u get on with them.

I have to say about wodehouse's humour, it takes getting used to, and this style of brit humour is not everyone's idea of whats funny. You just get it or you dont. :-/

I bet. It all starts once u get involved in the madness of the situation and the characters.

I dont know if they;d call this spamming, but the dialogue u quoted brought another to my mind. This is when a gentleman named mr.filmer gets stranded atop a building on an island in a mad storm with a madder swan around. Bertie reaches there somehow to help him and he's standing below the building trying to get mr. filmers attention while mr. filmer is screaming for help. In Bertie's words:

"'Hi!' I shouted, waiting for a lull.
He poked his head over the edge.
'Hi,' he bellowed, looking in every direction but the right one, of course.
'Hi!'
'Hi!'
'Hi!'
'Hi!'
'Oh!' he said spotting me at last.
'What-ho!' I replied, sort of clinching the thing."

If u ask me, spirit11, I'd say Bertie's the one with humour, Jeeves, imho, is slightly overrated.

^ I'd agree, a wodehouse, in my opinion, is definitely one of the funniest books one may read. i read my first wodehouse about 5 months back, and realized i hadn't read a book from the comic genre in a while! the one that i read most recently is the mating season, and i have to say, though it takes getting used to, but even lines like, 'hallo, hallo, hallo!" and "yes, yes, yes, yes," and "i shot 10 inches up in the air on hearing the colonel's voice," get u to chuckle or maybe giggle a bit hysterically after a point.

place alarms all around the room. like all over. till the furthest corner. so u get up in the morning to the sound that sounds like a death knell or somet, and by the time u run, trip, quietening all of them, voila! ur awake.

Saw Persepolis the other night.

Its an animated film based on an autobiographical graphic novel by Iranian Marjane Satrapi. Hand drawn animated in simple black and white, its essence is self expression in the face of oppression, fundamentalism, political upheavals and war. the journey of a woman from girlhood into adult life, with each step along the way bringing its own understanding and greater pain or joy. the film's (black) humorous take on sensitive issues, instead of understating them, makes them appear even more real to the audiences, those people who have never had the opportunity to live the life of a person in a fundamentalist war torn country, or more importantly, the life of a woman in a fundamentalist war torn country.

It is a good contribution in one way. just spoke out loud whats been running in many an italy fan's mind with every screw-up done by toni. the feeling of hopelessness, the despair after every chance missed in a tournament like euro. we hate luca toni. do you?

ps. hey, i know what ur talking about, course its not a toni hate club on here. was just a joke, do u guys also joke around a bit here? yes? neat.
