i have a doubt about buying laptop - what is the technical difference between Dual core and core 2 duo ?
i know that core 2 duo is costlier than dual core.... but both the names sound synonymous.
which is better in performance - speed as well as heat generation ?
Given that i'm not a gamer, will it mean any difference to me between these 2?

just a small doubt, how will the hostel rooms be alloted - the admission letter says that we can avail it from jun 21st. but the course begins on 23rd.
is there any spl advantage by coming on 21st to get room or it doesnot make difference. i mean like getting a room in ground floor like that..

i am having a doubt.........
now it is clear that results are going to come in first week of May.........
but what is defination of first week of May?

alternative 1----> between 1 May to 7 May
alternative 2----> between 1 May to 4 May as it is officially termed as first week
alternative 3----> between 5 May to 11 May as it is first full fledged working week in May..

I am confused puys........
this will appear as silly question but as last date for mdi fee submission is 8 may i am very much concerned about above dates..........
as I am staying in Mumbai, i have to send DD to mdi atleast on 6 May.........

Please give me your opinions................

man,nobody is clear on wht exactly they mean by 1st week of may. IIMA is only saying that, and for others it is tentative. as you could see only A,I,B have started gathering info. K,L,C are yet to... so we dont know their status. if they delay it by a day or two, then other iims would wait too, inorder to bring out the results together... so, better dont go by any newspapers. wait for official date(& not week)

I am an Electronics & Telecom Engg. from Mumbai Univ. with around 8 months experience in
Infosys. Decent acads with good ex-currics.
I have converted MICA this year.
However I find its fees to be a little on the higher side (9.5 lacs inclusive of
tuition,hostel, mess n laptop), moreover when compared to an avg. salary of 8 lacs p.a.
I am right now contemplating as to whether I should go for it or try again next year for all
the top institutes. Interest in a particular field has never been an issue for me.
So i am basically researching on the present fee structure of the various top b schools and
what the fee scenario would be in the top colleges next year(in the event of almost all
colleges increasing their fees including the IIMs). Also the reservations will make things
much more difficult next year.
So all my friend puys please pm me about the approx. overall expenses (try including hostel
n mess charges) and avg. packages of any college you personally rate equal to or above MICA.
(MDI..XLRI.. SP Jain.. JBIMS... NITIE.. TISS.. NMIMS... FMS... IITS.. IMT.. IIFT..etc) You
must be definitely knowing about the colleges u or ur friends must have converted.

Last year the date of joining and registration was 25th July. After that there is a 1 week long induction programme. Classes start in 1st week of August. The schedule for this year should also be the same, unless unforeseen circumstances force otherwise.

Given the current scenario, probably how many days could IIT M provide for the confirmed candidates to pay their token advance to confirm their seats from the date of result announcement?and how many days was it last yr?
