Yupp...
I've heard the same thing... Last year the program began with 17 seats vacant(don't know the category wise breakup). But, this year the supreme court ruling says that if some category seats are vacant, then they should be converted to general so that more candidates join and the revenue increases.

1. its the institutes decision whether they wanna convert d seats 2 general category or not
   
2. generally most colleges convert the vacant seats to general...

It depends on a case-to-case basis and your clause and understanding with the company. There is no blanket policy.

Can you please confirm whether students on sabbatical leave will be allowed for internships and placements?
In general, almost all the colleges allow them for placements.

What is the understanding between you and your company, or what does your contract say?

Can any senior pls. help me with the following :-

1. At the time of joining If i get a letter from my current organization stating that i have been granted education sabbatical leave (ESL) for 2 years staring from July then will this letter suffice, or I have to resign specifically and get relieving letter.
2. Are there any seniors in 2008-10 batch who are on education sabbatical leave (ESL). I need to know this to understand was there any impact due to their being on ESL during placement process. If you can pls. PM me contacts or clarify my doubts will be of great help.

I have asked this query previously on this forum Abhishek tried explaining still these doubts persist.

I advise you to contact the admissions office/PGP office on this- you'll get much better clarity on the issue. Also request you to share the answer they give on this forum.

You'll find the highest in the press release (28 lpa CTC- including variable pay) Why do you need the lowest ;)

Well, personally, I feel that laterals would obviously be more important- How it'll be structured is something which would be looked at. A lot of people in the incoming batch have 4-5 years of IT work-ex, it'll be interesting to look at the average work-ex- all this can have both a positive as well as a negative effect.
