dream_BLAC_2013 @ajaygovindg Sir, there are many B-schools with UNBELIEVABLE infrastructure [I mean you should check out some B-Schools here in Kolkata. II*M, New Delhi has infrastructure that would also put many to shame] But there's where it stops.....Infrastructure is a very minor parameter in judging a B-School....There are almost 95% B-Schools that would beat FMS, NMIMS hands down when it comes to infrastructure but since when has this handicap stopped them from ruling the roster?? The B-Schools that i have named were just to give an example but even if i forget that, u,I or anyone don't need to go there to JUDGE it, we already know, even by sitting at home, that its crap as it has students with meagre 50%ile in its batch and that says alooot about the quality of a school....Does'nt matter whether they have the best infrastructure or anything else..........And as far the mentality of judging a b-school by its placements, its actually very logical...Top companies don't recruit out of charity or attachment {I guess Accenture Business Consulting proved it this year when it forgot all about the institutes that it usually goes to and stuck only to the Top-4 in this year of crisis}.... When you go through a placement report and notice that dream companies like BCG, Mc Kinsey, AT Kearney, Bain, Booz, Rothschild etc recruiting or when u find some institute where students are offered front end IB at GS/HSBC/RBS or are offered the profile of AGM, Global Operation Head etc, you know then & there that this institute falls in the list of THE VERY BEST.... These companies or profiles will NEVER be offered at a B-Grade School and the students of such schools dont even dream of them....Infrastructure, this and that, all such parameters mean zilch when u can gauge the profile & esteem associated with a School & the tremendous respect it enjoys in the industry & student community.

IIM K,I,S are all quite new....Even XLRI, MDI and FMS were pretty average till 2005...That has never stopped anyone from rising exponentially....The actual difference b/w a NIRMA,FORE,TAPMI and an A Grade is just that the best students NEVER go there...There is a HUGE difference b/w the quality of students in A and B grade colleges and the placements are a mere reflection of that fact....So i am pretty sure even 10 years from now, they will still be where they currently lie............ PS- No disrespect meant to anyone. But when u come up with statements like the difference b/w a B-grade colg and that of SPJIMR,FMS,XL,IIM just lies in the placement/ there may be some parameters where this beats that/ they are new and u never know what will happen in the future.......its a pure insult to these dream institutes........
