I scored 75.94 in CAT 2012. I was waiting for the results before applying for PGPM. Should I go ahead or will it be a waste of money? Is there any chance of getting a call at that score?

Being an experienced candidate, did you have any advantage during placements, in terms of profile, package and being preferred by companies?

One question still remains unanswered. How difficult/easy would it be for me to land a non-IT profile? I have a feeling that after 3+ years in IT, I will never escape from its clutches. Anyways, CAT result is just round the corner. It would be a case of much ado about nothing if I bomb it.

I definitely want a career switch, want to move far away from IT. I do have to make a call if it is worth the investment. IMI may not be considered an elite B-School, but it is no doubt a good one. The only thing that bothers me is the financial aspects. Leave your job, pay the fees (~12L), lose your salary of 2 years, and then finally get placed (if you're lucky enough), with a package which will be almost similar to what I earn at the moment. It is a genuine dilemma.
