I feel there is some misunderstanding here abt what info I am asking for.. Things like what kind of difficulties one needs to be aware of for visa related stuff for each of the countries & what are the univs which give a good amount of scholarships to international students and the job scenarios in particular countries are not something people can get from a B-school's website!! It can be accurately given only by someone who has already been there or seen it. What use is your experience if one cant share it with someone else?

I have already browsed through quite a lot of B-school websites & also some other info sites, but could not get a clear answer to these 3 things which are the most important factors to one who is planning their career in any of these countries!! All these sites mention about their courses and their fees.. and give links to their financial aid department. This applies to ALL the students who apply there.. But we need to know it from our seniors how it was for people like them.. like us! We learn from the deeds and mistakes of others. I thought this forum is for sharing and helping each other.

As someone here mentioned, there are lot of Indian students in IESE. But how do I know if they are not sons of tycoons?? Exactly!! How do I know?? I need to know from someone who is there to tell me how it works for an ordinary student who needs scholarships and good jobs.. These tycoons will neither apply for schol nor wud they need a job. So how will I know from IESE's website if they are suitable for Indian students?
My query is related to the country and school on how it fits for students like us & NOT which university has the maximum Indian students. It is a more generic and practical issue related query.

Pls note, I am NOT asking here which B-school will fit MY profile or which B-school is good for my kind of experience. All THESE things are what will show in my essays - if I have not researched on these or just taken opinions blindly from someone else.
What I am asking people here is that - whoever has done research , atleast show some direction in more practical issues related to the apping process & beyond that! (which are not available in an organized manner anywhere)

For example: I read in Businessweek that getting jobs in Australia is easy. In PG, I saw many threads which mentioned that some people have been forced to return to India because the Australian work permit laws are pretty strict. I need to know what is the real picture in Australia and what are the things one can do to avoid trouble. Do I get it from AGSM's website? Now tell me, who will clear this confusion?? If we people look on PG as the place where we share knowledge & help each other, why should I get a reply here saying do the research urself? I dont need to join this forum for this.

When I was going thro PG, i saw that there have been such queries in many threads in this category, with answers for different countries scattered here and there..
I just wanted to collate all that and provide a good idea of these factors in each country!

Now, if anyone still feels I will get answers to all these on some B-school's website or some other site, I request you to please forgive me for being so unaware and give me the link to it.

I read thro a lot of threads in this section and feel the need for a comprehensive country wise list as to which B-schools are most suitable for Indian students. I need to know in terms of country - how it is suited for the Indian temperament (which is a bit emotional, likes fun and is enthued & needs good food.. stuff like that ), work permits/visa regulations ease, getting a good job after the MBA course (not being driven back to India to pay off those 50 lakhs:wow: *horror*) & liberal scholarships given..

Can anyone who has done the research on this pls gimme this info. Maybe the following format can be used::

Country Name 1, 2 etc
School Name 1, 2 etc:
Cost of living: Cool, Manageable, Need to be very frugal, Just too much!

Work permits/Visa regulation:
Details about what to do and when to do to avoid any sort of trouble

Scholarships: Good chances, Partial schol, abt 25% chances, Very very less

Getting a job: within a month, within 3 months, within 6 months, Pack ur bags and return as a bankrupt desi

I would be really grateful if someone can put this for the following countries:

UK
France
Spain
Canada
Australia
US
Italy (?)
and any other destinations that is a hotspot for Indian students.

And regd the schools, pls put in atleast 2-3 top B-schools in each of these countries except the US.. for which if smone can put atleast 5 top-schools, it wud be great

My problem is, within these 4 yrs i have never been to any country outside India - so that global exposure thing is missing.. and also, i wanted to try to the Top Bschools in Europe and US.. like Kelloggs, INSEAD etc.. But the fees are so high! Do ppl with not much savings successfully carry it thro - with schols etc? and if loans are taken, do we remain indebted for like 15 years!!?? coz in INR, these fees are translating to abt 35 lakhs + all the living expenses.. More imp, does any bank give so much loan? And are the placement stats so good that ppl can easily repay back - as the INSEAD site says?

Anybody knows anyone who has such a backgrnd and still done it - got schols.. got placed well? Any success story wud be highly motivating to me.. and to many with doubts like these..

There were 4 panels and 6 ppl in a group.. Each panel had 2 profs..
GD topic same as msadani.. I was hoping our GD would go in a smooth way since there were only 6, but it wasnt that good.. There were many ppl speaking at the same time and I wasnt able to make as much points as I wud like to have.. And there was one guy who kept interrupting me Anyway.. moving onto PI..

In retrospect, I think it was sort of a stress interview.. They asked me a lot of questions in topics which I had done ages ago..

I just have one query regd the GD procedure.. At the start, i see that all panels give a signal and ask the group to start.. What abt at the end? do they ask to summarise or say stop/time's up.. or smone has to take the initiative and just summarise at the end of the allotted time?

Hope this helps.. The CV shud start with the basic stuff u have in ur job resume too.. like Name, Address, Phone no, Email..
Then start with your
1) Work-ex details - Just the name of the company, duration, Designation , Job responsibilities or roles played (in brief)
2) Educational qualifications - in the form of a box or bullet points, Can also add academic achievements here - like some state rank u got
3) Any professional certifications u have done
4) Extra-curricular activities - these shud be those in which u spend considerable time and know a lot abt - for example if sports, then u must have played and won some trophies
5) Hobbies/Interests - these are general things u do in ur free time. This one's optional

The important thing here is: whatever u put in this CV, pls make sure u know abt each of those things.. starting from the meaning of ur name.. :)

This is one question I have seen often and still am not satisfied with the answers..
- How abt HR specialisation from IIMs? Isnt it any good? Dont they have the necessary courses? or they do not have placements for students specialised in HR?-
What if its my aim to study in IIM.. but specialise in HR? Does it mean that I will not be getting good placements? or no placements at all? Agreed, XLRI, TISS et al are the best.. But then IIMs are also one of the top institutes.. So, why not a HR specialisation from IIMs? Could any of the experienced seniors elaborate on what happens to ppl who take up HR in IIMs- anyone u know who has done it? My question is not which institutes are good for HR.. its - Why not a HR specialisation from IIMs..?
