There is just one program, PGDBM having various specializations and an intake capacity of 120 students/year. And, BIm also accepts CAT score.

All of you seem to have graduated after 2008.

If you are so much concerned about BIM, the why don't you ask the 2004-06 passed out students.

It has been a tradition in BIM to specify 100% placement every year, even if the fact is not true. Go and ask Laxmana about this and tell him to show the records for 100% placements over the years.

-> The Bribe Issue : If Industry sponsored candidates are not supposed to take part in the placement process then how come 2 students (Ashwini & Mehalala ) were placed. Laxmana took bribe. Four students were not place that year. Go and ask them or send a mail to them. Even if in their senior batch 2003-05, 3 students were not placed.

-> Reservation issue : All the college has reservations for SC/ST/OBC/MBC candidates as per the norms of a government aided institution. But I am talking about State Reservation, which BIM doesn't mentions in its prospectus. Most of the colleges in Mumbai (like Narsee Monjee) do mention that they have State Reservation. Then why not BIM.

-> Faculty issue : If you want to check the true potential of the students, then invite all visiting faculty from other states. More than 50% of the students will fail. If you are so much concerned about the Tamil faculties, the after the exam, send the answer sheets to other universities and see the results.

So before replying have a look at the History of BIM. Don't remain in the present fact only.

You see Mr. Bimzone, this is not a new case. Thousands of people try to malign the MBA colleges where their own personal experience has been bad. They use a public forum like PG and make up fictitious stories with a couple of names they picked up from the college brochure just like you have done.

You have either been rejected by BIM when you applied here or some other reason.....I don't know. The point is we could go on and on giving you justifications for your baseless claims that that would just mean wasting our time, which is, I presume more precious than yours. Everyone knows how credible BIM is, and we don't need to shout it out.:)

So unless you can come up with some hardcore evidence to support your so-called conspiracy theory, we'll call it a day.

I would kindly request the moderators to please delete the posts by bimzone as soon as possible.

I don't know who you are, but you seem hell bent on dampening BIM's reputation with your false claims.
Also, you have taken the pains to create a separate ID to post about BIM, which just shows how desperate you are about spoiling the reputation of a college which has 25 years of excellence to its credit.

Now, let me clarify your claims one by one,

Firstly, there has been no such instance of a faculty asking for bribe from its students for placements. Our placements have always been top-notch. Last year, when most colleges were unable to place their students, BIM registered a 100% placement with the average salary of 7 lakhs.
Secondly, the college has reservations for SC/ST/OBC/MBC candidates as per the norms of a government aided institution. (IIMs also have a same norms :shocked:)
Lastly, there is no discrimination of any sort. I am personally from Mumbai and not a Tamil by religion, and have never faced any discrimination in the college.
As regards to the faculties, it doesn't matter the place they are from but the qualifications they hold. All professors are experts in their fields, with a host of visiting faculties from all top B-schools and corporates.

I hope this answers your queries. I suggest you please check your facts before accusing any institution of this stature on a public forum.

Seniors, one question.

Now as said earlier my WL is 7(MBC) and have one concern. As per the letter since they have mentioned that the waitlisting process will be starting frmo the 15th of June and the course begins on the 2nd of July, it might cause some trouble for me quitting the company.
As we need to give a month's notice to the company I might be in a spot of bother in case i get to know only after June about my status.
That apart it would not look good if I all of a sudden leave the company without prior information.

Hence seniors my question is, Is it possible to have atleast a rough idea by 20th of April as the shortlisted candidates have been asked to pay the initial amount by then?

You have good chances of converting the WL

However, I don't think it would be possible to get any idea abt the shortlisted candidates by 20th April. Try and convince your reporting manager or the HR to excuse with a shorter notice period (thts what I did) and it may work out;)

There might be a delay in replying from our end as we are into our summers and busy wit the internships.

Moreover, this rule of confirming the waitlist position by paying rs 5000 was also there last year during our time. Its just done to assess the no. of ppl really interested. In case after paying the amt you get admission somewhere else, and you wish not to join the college, the amt would be returned to you after deducting a small amt(not more than 1000 rs).

And last year there was a healthy movement in the oc WL, so most definitely your #20 position should get a call this yr too.

Finally abt the 15th June deadline, call the office by June 10h and check, I guess they'll be done by then.

Hi seniors,

I am working in bangalore which is one of the GD/PI center for BIM. But still my GD/PI venue is Chennai. why? I don't understand the logic to call student from bangalore to chennai when BIM is already conducting interview in Bangalore. What should I do to get my venue for GD/PI changed? It would not be possible for me to come to chennai in that week.

Hey Vikas,

You can send a mail to the admissions dept requesting them to change your venue. Do not worry, your case is quite genuine and they will accept it.

- When should a Delhi person expect the letter?

- I donno what TN BC MBC etc is , but does everybody have their process collectively irrespective of these categories

Congratulations on the call. The preference for the centres would be asked in the letter that you would be receiving shortly from the college. And yes they do have an option for changing the dates in case of any genuine problems. You can contact the admissions office regarding this. All the Best..!!!
