Yes, they were predicting a lower cutoff. On the other hand, It was higher.

Cut off should hang around 40-42 in my opinion. Section II was never so tough for cut off to be made arnd 31 questions.

Last year the paper was tougher than the previous year(i.e. 2009)
But the cutoff rose from 41 to 45. Considering there was an increase in weightage of marks, i.e. from 70 to 75 last year, then also the rise of 4 marks in cutoff was not expected.
There are a lot of factors at play this year, increase in applicants, hence competition and negative marking.
From what I have heard and known, I think the cutoff should be somewhere around 40-41 for this batch.

Last Year Cutoff: 54 (General), 38 (Reserved)

1. The cutoff for last year HRM Program for TISS was 45 for general category.
2. The weightage for last year was a total of 75 marks(both papers inclusive).
The method was 50*.50 + 75*.66 = 75 marks
