Guys these 988 calls are for how many seats ???
and only delhi campus or calcutta also

988 calls for both IIFT Delhi and IIFT Kolkata. IIFT Delhi intake is around 150 while that for Kolkata campus is around 60.

going through the newspapers regularly should suffice. no. of questions varies from year to year but expect at least 20 questions in this section. there is a good mix of all kinds of questions ranging from general gk to current affairs. keep a track of company brand ambassadors, mergers & acquisitions etc.

"70 in VA, 80 in ardm, 90 in qa" + essay.
lost all respect for XLRI today. absolutely decided on gmat now. I have seen enuf of this circus. btw, it may be just that they have collated all the data that have been given to them since this morning about the sectionals and overall percentiles of people who have not got calls and they have then ENGINEERED these cutoffs around them.
moreover, the people who have satisfied even these ridiculous numbers and have not got calls, they will say "sorry bad essay". why do I get the feeling they haven't even read the essays ? I thought prometric was the champion in screwing with peoples lives and careers but it seems XLRI admission office is hell bent in achieving EXCELLENCE in this field as well and won't concede to IIMs and PROMETRIC. well done.

kanishka, rahul..excellent job guys. u have shown that u are fit for MBA. I sincerely hope that ur effort is rewarded and XL takes notice of the discrepancies.

my friend has qa slightly more than u and other two sections as well as overall lesser than u.
he has 80.xx in reasoning and dm and has BM call. if justice is done, dont worry, u will get the call.

I have gone through the thread in a state of interest and bemusement. I have not observed a qa score less than 90 getting a bm call, I may be mistaken. I have seen qa < 90 getting hrm calls.

if this is the criteria then it is a first for xlri. traditionally, all three sections have had very close cutoffs for BM. HRM on the other hand has always had a very high english cutoff. this is true for last three years. last year, all three had cutoffs in the vicinity of 91 percentile for BM.
I find it highly unlikely that there will be a differnce of 20 percentile in qa and va cutoffs for bm.
unless all of a sudden xlri has felt that english and logic are not required skills in a manager. Ur observation IMO is a coincidence. moreover, as u urself said, many ppl with all sectionals above 94 have not got any call. I am convinced that it's a technical issue. Lets see what effect the e-mail has. Hoping for the best.

bang on. this has to be mentioned. there is no other explanation. the director must know what the admission office is up to.

moreover how can it take till tuesday to find the forms (if they are at all there) ?? this might be a deliberate ploy to buy time so as to allow things to calm down. we must not let that happen.
