True, this applies if you have < 4 papers. I'm yet to meet someone who has more and is unemployed. The 4 paper barrier is for companies (non BPO type work) to be satisfied that you know where you're headed.

Dont misguide , the reason IRDA is unable hire a chairman is because all the actuires with the needed qualifications are paid at least 5 times more then what IRDA is offering

What in early 2000 when insurance sector was newly opened there was a sudden demand of qualified actuaries and firms had to import them by paying huge money , seeing this amount of money the hard working indian student moved to this career option , and now every year 5-10 are becoming fully qualified actuary and I personally feel Indian market is not that big to continue absorbing such supply as in US/UK (I hope I am wrong ..)

Just one last bit from my side ...

I feel that Indian students are so good that they have applied in huge nos to this course lure of money surely attracts anyone. Hence there is a bit of saturation coming in the entry level jobs at least . So many actuaries are not needed in India , so all those who have decided to pursue this path make sure that you have a back up plan ready .

A consulting co I have first hand information on pays something like:
4 LPA as base
65k addition for each CT 1-9, CA2, CA3 cleared
180K for each ST
210K for CA1
300K for SA

This is for a fresher with no work experience. Generally, you'd have accumulated about 5 years of work experience in the field by the time you become a fellow. At the end of 5 years, the pay can be expected to be around 30LPA. From there, pay compounds based on your skill level.
