Let the initial sales be "x"

250 * x = 250x --> Total Sales-->EQ 1

After the change :

(250-y) * 1.5x = 82.5 * 250x --> EQ2

Dividing 1 by 2

250/1.5(250-y) = 1/82.5


82.5 * 250 = 375 - 1.5y

y = 112.5

This method is the conventional one. Any smart cuts?

I have appeared for cat yesterday, and I believe and expect a percentile of 92 to 96(vague idea as lot of scaling of scores to be done in cat results)
with exp of 4 yrs in IT, please advice me where should I apply, to get calls for eg. IIM/MDI/SPJain/Great Lakes/IMT regular/executive programs
plz help

Dude, you must have applied for iims when you registered for CAT.
MDI - applications are closed.

I gave cat 2011 on 31st october morning, My attempts are low :
13 in QUANT and DI out of which i am expecting only 10 to be correct.
In verbal+LR section i attempted around 20 out of which i am sure only of 10 questions. Kindly let me what should be my expected percentile and in which b-schools to apply.
10th : 68.8
12th : 73.2
graduation: 75.41
working for 3years in infy
gave mat got 99.05 %

Noone can expect a percentile at this stage, Normalization can you put you up/down depneding on your slot. if you feel the slot was tough and the attempts were ideal, apply to all good bskools. In short be prepared for any score in cat, nothing is predictable.

sure, spjain cut offs are not too high, they give weightage to your profile.So if you can prove that you are good, the seat is yours.

i have 1 queery ,i will be taking my passport as identification but prob is that address written on passport is of my college.will it be a problem?

Passport is a valid proof. They dont check the address. The photo should be a recent one(mine had a school photo) and the name should match. Carry 2 proofs as a precaution.
