Thanks for your reply, almost all the doubts have been cleared by seniors. Only 1 doubt is there, what after 2 yrs? Package,Working profile, growth,etc.
My expectation will be a package between 12-15. And if we include inflation it will come out to be 15-20 lacs. Currently for core mba highest is 16 and lowest is 6.5.
I am from delhi and want 2 work here only. Gurgaon and noida are having many companies.
But i am not able to see any of the above mentioned things will be taken care by MBA(IB).

See, I dont think getting into a good company after this course will be such a major issue, with the kind of faculty we currently have and their contacts, I trust it shouldnt be much of a problem..
And unless the first batch goes out I cannot justify it with salary figures. But, as long as we have the faculty and the learning experience is top class, companies are bound to come in.
And remember, it is not MBA(IB) it is MBA(IM)..

Yes, 2011-13 batch.

i think low number was because the course was started last year only.
Can you tell us what was the profile of 15 students.

Students who have joined the 2011 intake batch are with work ex in companies such as Coal India Ltd, Areva T&D;, TATA Consulting Engineers, Lanco Infratech, Maharashtra PWD, Ericsson and Marico Ltd to name a few.
3 of them are from NIT's and one of them is from DCE.
Hope this helps with regard to some idea abt the profiles of current students.

I have been selected for MBA - IM, in the recent wait-list that was released and it was written that I wont be considered for General MBA for next waiting lists.

My queries,

1. Is it that I am being offered MBA IM because my engineering background is Mech?

2. Since MBA General is the flagship course @ SCMHRD, is there any possibility that I will be considered for the same in next wait list(s)?
I have work ex of three years in software and Infrastucture Management seems a misfit for my profile.

1..I do not have access to that piece of information with regard to your selection.
2..It must be mentioned in the offer letter..Please check.

I am sorry, I do not know about it. Please ask someone from the Senior batch to get a better idea.

1. Where are the classes held for this IM course?
2. Can a student from IM sit along with others for the placements or there is entirely different placement scenario ?
3. Going by the ratio, should i expect a field job as a final result.

1..Classes for IM are held in SCMHRD..!!
2..The profiles offered are different for the IM course and it depends on the company of they wanna offer a role for an IM student as per the companies requirement
3..By field job do you mean a site job..?? Arent Marketing, HR and Operations guys send to the Field..??

1..I disagree with the fact that looking at the number of girls in the current batch you can come to such a conclusion. It totaly is upto girls to choose what career paths they wanna persue. If you feel that girls are not fit for the course because it is something like 'site' job that is in offering, I must correct you.

2..The infra sector is vast and it is just not about construction and site jobs as the common perception is. There are varied opportunities in Project Management, Project Financing, Contracts Management, Infrastructure Consulting etc.

3..The classes are held at SCMHRD premises only. Unless you count the Singapore trip that the batch had last year.

4..I do not know about this particular part.Sorry..

The number of students who have opted for IM this year is 15. There is just one girl in the batch.

In MBA Academics page - there are 4 electives for final semester i.e transport, urba/rural infra., others and energy and power.
But in your Centre for Excellence page in Infrastructure part detailed course content is available which shows only 3 electives except Energy & Power.
Since I a\m a mechanical engineer working in OIL N Gas Design I was aspiring for Energy & Power.

Can you Please clarify

I think there must be some error in the Center for Excellence page, Energy and Power is all set to be offered in the final sem.
