I don't understand one thing......... How do IIMs get different normalised scores in acads for the same students (with the same database and considering students in same no. of yrs).......?? Also, whya aren't any of the seniors coming and clarifying things here??

The reason nobody is clarifying anything is because the admissions process is pretty confidential, and we usually know as much about it as anybody else... so most of us 'seniors' would stay away rather than make speculative comments :|

Honestly, what I have seen in this thread leaves me flabbergasted. I can't figure out how the normalization has been done for 10th and 12th.

As promised..

Here we are with the OMPA dinner meet..

For the uninitiated

OMPA is Old Mens Pagal Association..

Not that these guys are that old.. (barring a few maybe :biggrin:)

They are immensely experienced..

Have seen many ups and downs in life.. and came out unscathed

They have been here, there, everywhere.. :lookround:

And have done this that.. what not..

So this time our guest will be

He passed out from IIMK last year with specialisations in Marketing and Finance

But he is more of a marketing guy

As per my talks with him.. he can enlighten us about marketing in real life

How does it work and what happens to us when we actually get into the field..

Also he will be telling us about the MBA stuff.. why do we and why should we choose to do an MBA

And maybe.. why shouldnt we

He will enlighten us, the rosy eyed people, about the life after MBA. What to expect and what not to, and how to go about it

As per the norm, the headcount in an OMPA dinner meet has to be manageable

I regret to say, but we can have not more than 10 persons aboard for this meet

Of course, I promise that these meets will keep happening and we will keep inviting new guests each time who will bombard us with gyaan from every direction

Please remember that this is a very formal kind of meet with a definite agenda as follows.

2. All about Marketing and basic about Finance.

So guys.. whoever comes, please do your homework, and come up with a definite set of queries for the man. I hope we wont like to waste the time of our guest in bakar

Apologies for not replying to any queries related to filling the form for call-getters.

Most of these queries have ended up being scattered on the thread. Could anybody with a bit of time collate these and put them together in one post? Especially the ones which need some sort of clarification from the admissions department, so that they could be routed together to the authorities.

Would help things a lot.

For the Moderators:

This thread has completely gone into discussing the hows and whys of the calls, which is understandable in the situation.

However, we need a separate thread to discuss call-getters' queries, like the several ones put up in the last few pages. These are currently getting lost in the other discussion, and might be missed.

Please consider starting a new thread which will exclusively handle these issues. I know this might seem unusual, but go through the last few pages to see what I mean.
