I am basically a person from the non-finance background, interested in giving CFA exam. Could any one please guide me as how should i go about preparing for the exam(planning for June 2011). Which books to follow, any coaching insti to join.. etc etc. Any suggestions are welcome.

Are you facing this problem since the time of purchase of your notebook or it's a new problem for you? Have you faced such a problem that your notebook automatically shuts down due to overheat or each time you used to shut it down manually.

As you rightly said, the lappy shuts down due to overheat automatically. This problem has risen offlate and wasn't there before.

A peculiar problem here.

I have a HP 520 laptop. The problem is that if I use my lappy continuously for 1 - 2 hrs, the part where the processor is placed gets heated up considerably although the fan is running fine. Also the whole area above the processor gets very hot. I have to shutdown for say 30 minutes and use it again. This problem becomes a big headache when one is working on something really important.

What may be the problem?

Mate, IMO you would just miss out Sydenham but I guess u wud have a good chance for KJ and WE.

Tons of luck to everybody from my side who are in 145+ bracket bcoz u ppl are nearly thr( I mean decent chances in top 5) and u need to just do the last thing right , i.e, the GD and PI. So may u ppl rock both

Mine score is 152(99.51 %ile).. i m from OMS category...in PAR m getting 4/6..if i get excellent gd pi say (32/34)..i ll get 188...

In my opinion you would just miss JB(50-50 chances) that to, by a very minimal margin. Very hard to be in this position, so near yet so far but u wud b in reckoning for Sydenham and KJ.

I m getting 81.28 percentile in mh-cet.I am OMS candidate as well. so could u please suggest me any good colleges for me.????
I have 2 year work ex as well. I have no idea about mh colleges on that score....

Dude sorry to say but at this score u wont be able to get in any of the gud colleges(Top 10). I mean if u can give the exams next yr I would suggest you plz do that.
